Lazzarini: 'Gaza Humanitarian Foundation Offers Palestinians Nothing but Gunfire'
DaysofPal- UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini sharply criticized the so-called 'Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,' asserting on Tuesday that the Us-Israel initiative delivers nothing to civilians in Gaza 'except starvation and gunfire.'
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Lazzarini stated that over 130 international humanitarian NGOs have called for the restoration of a unified, UN-led coordination and distribution based on international humanitarian law, inclusive of UNRWA.
He emphasized that the widespread humanitarian community is urging an end to the foundation's operations, accusing it of contributing to deadly chaos rather than providing relief.
'Since this scheme began, at least 500 starving people have been reported killed and nearly 4,000 injured while desperately struggling to get food,' Lazzarini wrote.
Earlier today, 11 Palestinians were killed and others wounded after Israeli forces targeted civilians waiting for aid near the so-called 'Netzarim Corridor' in central Gaza and north of Rafah.
According to field data, the number of civilians killed at American-Israeli aid distribution points has risen to 591 deaths, 4,216 injuries, and 39 missing, all of whom were unarmed, starving civilians searching for food under siege conditions.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation —with full backing from the United States—has been waging what international experts describe as a genocidal war on Gaza. The campaign has resulted in over 189,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, the majority of whom are women and children, with more than 11,000 reported missing.
