Blood donation camp held at Government Medical College and Hospital in Thoothukudi
A blood donation camp titled 'Uthiram-25' was held at Thoothukudi Government Medical College and Hospital (TKGMCH) on Wednesday.
TKGMCH Dean G. Sivakumar inaugurated the camp and presided over the event.
The camp, which was conducted between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., has attracted around 250 individuals, including medical college teaching professionals, medical students, nurses, and paramedical staff, who have voluntarily donated 250 units of blood. Of this, students alone donated 130 units of blood.
The blood collection process was overseen by a medical team led by R. Shanthi, Head, TKGMCH Blood bank. The event was organised by college's Youth Red Cross Coordinator Israel Raja, Johnlee, NSS officer A.R. Arun Saravanan.
