Five UP students to get scholarship to pursue master's degree in UK

ucknow: The cabinet approved the launch of the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee-Chevening Uttar Pradesh State Govt Scholarship Scheme, which was rolled out on Thursday.
Inspired by the extraordinary achievements of the former Prime Minister, the scholarship is to be operated by Uttar Pradesh govt in collaboration with UK's Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office.
During the meeting, it was approved that under this scheme, a target has been set to provide scholarships to five talented students of the state for pursuing a master's degree in the UK. This will help the talented students of the state to obtain a master's degree in the UK.
Participants will be provided with a scholarship for one year of study in any one subject from a recognised university in the UK.
Also, under this scheme, students will be provided with an academic tuition fee along with examination and research fees, an adequate monthly allowance for living expenses of a single student, and one return airfare (economy class) for the approved route from the place of residence.
The selection process of beneficiaries under this scheme will be done as per the MoU between the state govt and the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

It will start from the academic year 2025-26, which will be effective for a period of three years. Scholarships will be provided for the academic years 2025-26, 2026-27, and 2027-28. To continue the scholarship in the academic year 2028-29, renewal will be required by March 30, 2028. Under the scheme, for each selected student, the state govt will bear approximately 19,800 pounds, while the remaining scholarship amount - ranging between 38,048 pounds and 42,076 pounds per student - will be provided by the FCDO.
