Vijay Deverakonda's 'Kingdom' may face another delay
Picture Credit: X Vijay Deverakonda 's upcoming pan-India film 'Kingdom' which is currently scheduled to release on July 4, 2025, but recent reports suggest the movie might be postponed again. According to a report by Pinkvilla, the film now seems to be releasing on July 25. The delay is reportedly due to some scenes being re-shot, although an official announcement is still awaited. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri , 'Kingdom' is touted as a spy action entertainer and is planned as the first part of a two-film series. 'Kingdom' was initially slated for release on March 28, 2025, but faced multiple postponements. It was first pushed to May 30, 2025, and then further delayed to July 4, 2025. The makers cited unforeseen national events and the prevailing atmosphere as reasons for the postponements, explaining that these factors made it difficult to proceed with promotions and celebrations. The film includes Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead and also features Satyadev and Koushik Mahata in key roles. The project was officially announced in January 2023 under the tentative title 'VD12', with the official title Kingdom revealed in February 2025. Principal photography began in June 2023, with shooting locations spanning Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Kerala, and Sri Lanka. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. This marks the second collaboration between Vijay and Rahul after their successful horror-comedy 'Taxiwaala.' There are strong rumors that Rashmika Mandanna might be the female lead. He is also set to work with director Ravi Kiran Kola on a romantic action drama tentatively named, 'SVC59'.

It is being produced by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune 4 Cinemas Banners respectively. The film is to be presented by Srikara Studios. Well known costume designer Neeraja Kona is in-charge of the costumes for this film, which has had its songs choreographed by Vijay Binni. The film, which is full of action sequences, had three stunt choreographers -- Yannick Ben, Chethan D'Souza, Real Satish working on it.

Chennai: The makers of director Gowtam Tinnanuri's explosive entertainer, 'Kingdom', featuring actor Vijay Deverakonda in the lead, on Wednesday dropped a promo for the first single from the film titled 'Hridayam Lopala', which is scheduled to be released on Friday. Producer Naga Vamsi, who shared the link to the promo on his timeline on X, wrote, "They fake love to survive, but soon, it feels all too real. #HridayamLopala Promo out now. An @AnirudhOfficial Vibe. Full song out on May 2nd. #Kingdom." Actor Vijay Deverakonda, for his part, tweeted, "In the shadows of betrayal, In the pretence of a bond, there is tense attraction. The film has generated a lot of buzz ever since the makers released a gripping teaser. In the teaser, Vijay Deverakonda comes across as a character that resembles an unstoppable force—blazing with intensity and destined for greatness. The film, which was initially being referred to as VD12, has the tagline, 'From the shadows of betrayal, shall rise a king.' The teaser gives one the idea that the story of the film will revolve around the struggle of a section of people. Vijay Deverakonda, for his part, sports a six-pack and a really rugged look that is complete with cropped hair and a beard. The teaser also has a shot of the actor in what appears to be a prison.
