Astro's Moonbin tribute sparks brutal hate: Fans launch truck protests and agency hits back
ASTRO has responded with strong resolve after facing a wave of malicious online comments following the release of their heartfelt tribute to the late Moonbin. On April 23, ASTRO's agency, Fantagio, issued a firm statement: 'Malicious slander and rumors that defame ASTRO's reputation are spreading recklessly online,' they said. 'Although we have been monitoring the situation cautiously, we can no longer stand by and will be taking legal action without leniency.' The agency underscored that spreading false information and hiding behind anonymity to post defamatory content is a clear violation of the law. They also shared that evidence is being actively collected and that fan-submitted tips have been invaluable—welcomed via email. Fantagio made it clear: 'We will continue to respond strongly to any actions that infringe upon ASTRO's rights and interests.' ASTRO, who debuted in 2016 with faced a devastating loss when member Moonbin passed away in April 2023 at the age of 25. To honour the second anniversary of his passing, ASTRO recently released the tribute track 'Memory of the Moon.' All proceeds from the song will be donated.
