Rosé's reaction has resonated deeply with fans around the world, many of whom have long hoped to see her shine as a solo artist on a global stage.
The nominations not only mark a milestone in her solo journey but also position her as one of the most nominated South Korean artists in VMA history.
The song has earned nominations in several of the VMAs' most prestigious categories, including Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop and Best Collaboration.
The visually stunning music video, co-directed by Mars and filmmaker Daniel Ramos, has also been recognised in the Best Direction category.
Behind the scenes, the team that brought the video to life is also getting its due. Elizabet Puksto scored a nomination for Best Art Direction, while Maksymilian Rafal Ojster received recognition in the Best Visual Effects category - a testament to the high-calibre creativity that powered the project.
Rosé's nominations don't end there. She also received a nod for Best K-Pop for her solo track 'Toxic Till the End', a hauntingly beautiful ballad featuring actor and model Evan Mock.
Notably, Rosé isn't the only BLACKPINK member making waves this year.
Her fellow bandmates have also been honoured with solo nominations in the Best K-Pop category - a groundbreaking moment for the group as a whole.
Jennie earned a nomination for 'Like JENNIE', Jisoo for 'Earthquake", and Lisa for her collaboration "Born Again' with Doja Cat and RAYE.
For both Jennie and Jisoo, this marks their first-ever solo recognition at the VMAs.
With eight nominations to her name, Rosé is among the top contenders heading into this year's ceremony - a significant achievement that signals her growing impact as an individual artist.
Since debuting with the group in 2016 under YG Entertainment, Rosé, whose birth name is Roseanne Park, has become one of K-pop's most recognisable voices.
Her solo debut in 2021 broke multiple records, and her artistry continues to evolve, blending pop, soul and R&B influences.
Now with 'APT' and 'Toxic Till the End', Rosé is carving a bold new path - one that's being recognised on one of music's biggest stages.
