Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi slammed the the government, calling it a 'repeated insult to educators.' He added that teachers in Gujarat have been roped into more than 30 non-teaching roles over the years, including for crowd mobilisation for political events to pest control. Following the uproar over the order, Jasdan's provincial officer withdrew the circular and stated that teachers may still choose to volunteer at the temple fair but not under compulsion. Gujarat education minister Kuber Dindor admitted the error and clarified that the Education Department had instructed local authorities to scrap the directive. He said that teachers should only be assigned essential national duties like elections or voter list revisions and not temple hospitality.

Brawl at ice-cream spot near VVIPs' houses in TT Ngr
Bhopal: A violent brawl broke out late Monday night at a restaurant/ice-cream parlour located near the residence of VVIPs on Link Road No. 1 in TT Nagar. A video of the incident went viral on social media platforms, showing two groups, including the restaurant staff and a group of men, clashing in the middle of the road, exchanging punches, kicks, and blows with sticks. The viral video sparked criticism over the lack of visible police presence near a high-security zone like the VVIPs' residence in the 74-Bungalows area. According to the footage, the two groups were seen engaging in brutal violence without any immediate intervention. Acting on information, TT Nagar police reached the spot and registered a case against the restaurant manager and four staff members on charges of violating an order issued by the police commissioner for allegedly running the restaurant past midnight and not completing the police verification of the staff. They were detained under a preventive section. SHO TT Nagar Maan Singh Chouhan said the dispute took place over the ice-cream rates. The SUV-borne men fled by the time police reached the spot. Police said the scuffle prompted intervention from the night patrol team. ACP TT Nagar Chandrashekhar Pandey, Misrod SHO Manish Raj Singh Bhadouria, and SHO Govindpura Awadhesh Singh Tomar reached the scene, but by the time they arrived, the fight was over. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Despite the ruckus, neither group filed a formal complaint at the police station. An e-FIR was reportedly filed by the restaurant management. '4 In SUV Abused & Manhandled Customer': Restaurant's Version Shared Online In their defence, the restaurant's management said that around 11:45pm, four individuals arrived in an SUV and started creating a disturbance in the outlet by aggressively demanding service and behaving inappropriately in front of other customers. When a couple present requested the individuals to stop using abusive language and to maintain decorum, the group escalated their behaviour. They began physically pushing the male customer and verbally abusing the female companion. When the restaurant manager objected, he too was allegedly manhandled. However, police have not confirmed these claims and say no formal assault complaints have been received.
