Heerenveen sign striker with second-tier experience from Sparta Prague

Heerenveen will have Vaclav Sejk at their disposal on loan next season. The 23-year-old striker is on loan from Sparta Prague. The deal includes an option to buy. Sejk spent the past six months on loan at Portuguese side Famalicão, where he scored three goals in 16 league matches while providing two assists. The Czech striker worked at Sparta Prague under former Feyenoord manager Brian Priske. In the second half of the 2023-24 season, he played on loan at Roda JC. In the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, Sejk found the net eight times in 15 appearances. During his second spell in the Netherlands, the Czech, who is seen as Dylan Vente's understudy, hopes to make a name for himself in the Eredivisie. 'I hope I won't be in the dugout much,' Sejk joked on Heerenveen's club website. 'I'm a striker, so I hope to score goals. But I also promise to always give one hundred per cent and play with full commitment. I'm a fighter, a winner. I don't like losing.' GBeNeFN | Max Bradfield

Elliott ensured England led at the break and Jonathan Rowe doubled their advantage shortly after the restart. Omari Hutchinson looked the liveliest as Lee Carsley's side started strongest but they failed to build on that as momentum swung for the Czechs. Alarm bells were ringing when Vaclav Sejk just missed Martin Suchomel's low cross and they survived another scare when James Beadle pushed over the unmarked Stepan Chaloupek's header. There was another let-off when a corner found Patrik Vydra free in the box and his strike deflected off Jarrell Quansah but Beadle came to the rescue again. But England took the lead against the run of play thanks to great work from skipper James McAtee. The Manchester City ace kept alive Tino Livramento's looping cross and he pulled it back from the byline for Elliott to run on to and rifle home. 5 England skipper James McAtee fends off Vaclav Sejk Credit: Reuters BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK England beat Czech Republic 2-0 two years ago to begin their journey to European glory and the omens were looking good for a repeat moments after half time.
