Nebraska in strong position to land four-star defensive lineman
A class of 2026 four-star defensive tackle Valdin Sone has placed Nebraska in his top eight schools. This was reported by Tim Verghese on Wednesday (subscription required). Sone announced his update last night. Verghese reports that Florida, Oklahoma, and Nebraska are the three schools that are reportedly the favorites in his recruitment. The Huskers first offered Sone on January 16, and since then, he has received several offers, including from Big Ten schools Penn State and USC. Advertisement Sone has seen his profile grow over the past couple of months. He participated in the Navy All-American Bowl, recording a quarterback pressure in the game. This is certainly a recruit to watch for the Huskers. Defensive line coach Terry Bradden could have a large impact on this recruitment. The defensive line position certainly has young talent waiting in the wings, and building depth at the position will be important for the future. Four-star DL 2026 recruit Valdin Sone narrows his list to eight teams, including Texas
Four-star DL 2026 recruit Valdin Sone narrows his list to eight teams, including Texas The Longhorns are among the finalists for Valdin Sone One of the top defensive linemen in the 2026 class has narrowed their list to eight teams. On Tuesday night, four-star Valid Sone released his top eight, which included the Texas Longhorns. The other teams that made the cut were Oklahoma, USC, Nebraska, Georgia, Auburn, South Carolina, and Florida. Sone, originally from Sweden, has been making headlines while playing for Blue Ridge High School in Virginia. While he has only been playing football for a few years, he has impressed scouts nationwide, including On3 Director of Scouting Charles Power. 'Sone had several flash moments on Wednesday," Powers said. " Sone was the only defensive lineman we saw notch a win against Oklahoma offensive tackle signee Ryan Fodje in 1-on-1's during the morning. Sone put Fodje on the ground with a vicious swim move. We later saw the Sweden native make some plays on the interior in the joint practice.' This week was not the first time he shined with many eyes watching. Earlier this year, he played in the Navy All-American Bowl. During that game, Sone's mobility and ability to fire off the line of scrimmage were on full display, which only helped increase his stock. Currently, Sone is the second top 20 prospect at his position to include the Longhorns as one of his finalists. The other is Dylan Berymon, who included Texas among his top five. While the Longhorns would love to have both, it is an encouraging sign that they are still on Sone's radar. The Longhorns will be a program to watch as his recruiting process continues. Over the last few years, defense has been their strength partly due to their ability to get players like Sone and maximize their skills.

Four-star DL Valdin Sone names top schools
Four-star DL Valdin Sone names top schools The Georgia Bulldogs are in the mix for another elite. Four-star defensive lineman Valdin Sone named Georgia among his top eight teams. Texas, Nebraska, USC, Auburn, South Carolina, Florida and Oklahoma also made his top schools list. Sone is a four-star prospect from the class of 2026 after reclassifying from the 2027 class. He is a Cameroonian descendant born in Sweden that grew up playing soccer and was involved in Jiu-jitsu and Taekwondo. The 6-foot-3, 316-pound defensive lineman plays high school football at Blue Ridge School in Dyke, Virginia. He was a standout at the Navy All-American Bowl this past year, along with Georgia freshman wide receiver Talyn Taylor. Georgia offered him on May 30, 2024, but the Bulldogs have yet to schedule an official visit with the talented defensive lineman. He does have official visits scheduled with Oklahoma, Florida, and Alabama. The Florida Gators are favored to earn a commitment from Sone, according to On3's prediction model. If Sone were to commit to Georgia, he'd be the second defensive lineman from 2026 to commit to UGA along with Seven Cloud. Sone is the 46th nationally ranked prospect from 2026 recruiting class. He's not far from being ranked as a five-star. He's also the fourth ranked defensive lineman in the nation.

Oklahoma Sooners Prospect Profile: 2026 Defensive Tackle Valdin Sone
The Oklahoma Sooners have revamped their defensive line over Brent Venables three seasons in Norman. Impact additions like Da'Jon Terry and Damonic Williams via the transfer portal, along with recruiting wins of Gracen Halton, David Stone, Jayden Jackson, and Trent Wilson, have given the Sooners a strong defensive tackle group for Todd Bates to work with. The Sooners are hoping to continue that trend. This weekend, OU hosted 2026 defensive tackle prospect Valdin Sone. Sone was born in Sweden but plays his high school ball in Virginia. He comes in at an imposing 6-foot-3 and 325 pounds. According to 247Sports, he has an athletic background in soccer and jiu jitsu, which will bode well for his endurance, athleticism, flexibility, and ability to shed blockers with his hands. He's considered a four-star prospect by 247Sports as the No. 35 defensive tackle prospect in the country and the No. 9 player in the state of Virginia. Sone is a force in the middle. He has the strength to push back opposing offensive linemen and get in the backfield to make plays. He displays strong hands and is able to shed blockers at the point of attack. When asked to rush the passer, Sone displays good quickness and can shrink to fit in between blockers and get to the quarterback. He plays with great effort as both a run defender and a pass rusher. Still new to football, Sone has the size and the demeanor to be a force in the middle of a Power Four defensive line. He has the ability to be a starting nose tackle at the Power Four level.
