Crochet shoes are this summer's breeziest staple

May is slipping away, we're in the heat of summer and high humidity is on the horizon. Navigating this capricious climate means reaching for pieces that feel effortless. Our solution? Get on board with the crochet shoe trend that has become a recurring sight on the spring/summer 2025 runways. No longer reserved for lazy beach days, this versatile material is experiencing a resurgence this year and it's no secret why. Designers have co-signed this trend in a big way. Jacquemus went for a more cheerful route, with their woven slingback pumps in the colour of the season while Fendi opted for a sleek approach with their polished woven slip ons. Then there was Chloé's woven flats and Gabriela Hearst's pointy slingbacks, which proved that crochet could hold its own refined appeal as well. Inside PM23, Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti's new exhibition space in Rome, designed to nurture future creatives: its inaugural show pays tribute to Valentino's signature colour

Since its inception in 2016, the Fondazione Valentino Garavani e Giancarlo Giammetti has quietly championed charitable causes, lending support to families in need, and backing special projects at Rome's Bambino Gesù Hospital and Policlinico Gemelli. Now, this philanthropic endeavour is stepping into the spotlight with the grand opening of the foundation's new cultural hub, marking a significant milestone for the organisation and its founders. PM23 is a new exhibition space in Rome, founded by Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti. Photo: Handout Nestled in Rome's historic Piazza Mignanelli, just a stone's throw from the iconic Valentino atelier, the foundation's new home, PM23, is a former school and printing house once belonging to Propaganda Fide – now transformed into a space set to become a vibrant international hub for arts, fashion and culture. Advertisement During the filming of Matt Tyrnauer's 2008 documentary on his life, Valentino: The Last Emperor, Garavani famously said, 'I love beauty; it's not my fault.' Far more than just an exhibition space, PM23 is conceived as a platform designed to nurture emerging talents and champion artistic projects that echo the founders' enduring philosophy: 'Beauty creates beauty.' Jeff Koons' Balloon Venus Lespugue welcomes guests to PM23. Photo: Handout The inaugural exhibition, 'Horizons/Red', pays homage to the bold colour that has become synonymous with Valentino since the designer's debut collection in 1959 . Having opened to the public on May 25, the showcase brings together 30 artworks on loan from institutions, private collectors, as well as Valentino and Giammetti's own collection, featuring works by luminaries such as Pablo Picasso Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, among others. All this sits alongside 50 archival dresses in Valentino red. Setting the tone for the exhibition, American artist Jeff Koons' Balloon Venus Lespugue, a vivid red sculpture, welcomes guests at the entrance. In an announcement about the foundation's new project, Garavani and Giammetti said: 'We believe beauty has the power to elevate, transform and leave an indelible mark on people's lives. Through the foundation, we wish to share and give back to the world what beauty has given us, by supporting talent, creativity and culture, ensuring they remain a source of inspiration just as they have been for us. We firmly believe that fostering talent, promoting culture and helping those in need are tangible ways to make the world a better place.' PM23 is currently showcasing 50 archival dresses, all in Valentino red. Photo: Handout PM23's ambition to be a cornerstone for creativity and innovation is reflected in the foundation's goal of hosting one or two major exhibitions each year. These will be complemented by workshops and competitions aimed at empowering the next generation of creatives, with the space set to become an arena for artistic exploration and social engagement.

Billy Ray Cyrus & Elizabeth Hurley Make Red Carpet Debut as a Couple

Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley posed arm in arm on the red carpet for the first time on Saturday (May 24) in Rome, Italy, where the couple attended a dinner event together at the Palazzo Barberini. Hurley shared a photo from their night out on Instagram, captioning the moment with 'Roma' and several pink heart emojis; Cyrus commented on her post with red heart emojis. In pictures from the event, the actress — who wore a hot pink gown with sleeves that draped over her arms like a cape — is seen smiling brightly, with Cyrus by her side. Cyrus and Hurley made their relationship Instagram official in April, when they shared a photo of a kiss on Easter Sunday. Since then, they've made more appearances together on social media and have talked about each other in interviews with the media. The couple were both part of the cast of the 2022 Lionsgate comedy Christmas in Paradise, alongside Kelsey Grammar. 'We did very few scenes together but the couple times we were in the same scene there was a chemistry there,' Cyrus said on Apple Music's The Ty Bentli Show the week after Easter. 'We just laughed, and it was at a time I wasn't laughing a lot.' After filming wrapped, they reconnected over text message when Hurley unexpectedly reached out to tell the 'Achy Breaky Heart' singer, who was going through a difficult period in his personal life, 'You've got a friend in your corner.' Cyrus recalled, 'Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most… this friend who made me laugh.' 'She's so impressively brilliant,' he said of Hurley. 'She reminds me a lot of Dolly Parton. She's a very smart businesswoman. If you can laugh together, you can make it through everything.' Later in the Apple Music interview, Cyrus shared, 'It's been a long time since I've been this happy.' On May 13, Hurley fielded a question from Entertainment Tonight about the relationship, smiling as she told the outlet, 'Billy's a very, very fabulous person. He's a very gentle man, very nice. We're very happy.' Donald Trump Jr's ex Kimberly Guilfoyle brushes off criticism of her style in very risque fiery red dress

Donald Trump Jr.'s ex-fiancé Kimberly Guilfoyle appears to be enjoying her single life as she flaunted her assets in a very risqué, fiery red dress while attending the 31st amFAR Gala in Cannes on Thursday. Guilfoyle, 56, walked the carpet wearing a long-sleeve gown which featured a very revealing top with much of her chest exposed behind a thin veil of mesh fabric. Floral and silk detailing was the only thing that prevented her baring all at the star-studded Gala. The waist of the gown was cinched, showing off her physique, while the envelope-style skirt showed off her trim pins with mesh, floral embroidered detailing. She paired the look with a pair of seriously high, silver bedazzled pumps that were dripping in gems. The former model completed the bold outfit with a metallic silver clutch by designer Valentino Garavani, whose bags typically retail for thousands of dollars, along with $510 large embellished earrings that appeared to be from Amina Muaddi. However, it's an ensemble that Guilfoyle already appeared to have worn once before. She wore th e bright red gown in an editorial spread last month, as she appeared on the April 2025 cover of Metropolitan Palm Beach, a luxury magazine. In the picture, Guilfoyle donned the dress, posing with one hand on her hip and giving a sultry look into the camera. The former Fox News host seems to be bouncing back from heartbreak, as broke the news that she had split from Don Jr. last winter. Around the time of their split, an insider told People that 'Don Jr. has been telling people for months that Kim is so uptight and always dresses so professionally in these kinds of dresses and high heels, and never looks relaxed or casual.' Guilfoyle and Don Jr. had been dating since around 2018, shortly after he had split from his first wife, Vanessa Trump. One source familiar with the family told at the time, 'There is no more Kimberly and Don – at least not romantically.' However, they insisted that there was no bad blood between them, and that it was an amicable breakup. The breakup came three months after she was 'blindsided' by photos of her fiancé enjoying an intimate brunch with another woman, Bettina Anderson, 38 - who he now calls his girlfriend. Bettina is well known in Palm Beach for her philanthropic works. She too is the child of a president, albeit one with the radically smaller purview of a bank. Her father, Harry Loy Bettina Jr, was the youngest president of Worth Avenue National Bank at the age of 26. He died in 2013 aged 70. Her mother Inger, still a beauty at 74, has an $11.5million home in an exclusive section of the Florida beach town while Bettina lives in a comparatively townhouse in West Palm Beach, less than a mile from Mar-a-Lago. She accompanied Don Jr. to President Donald Trump's inauguration in January, as well as subsequent events that weekend. However, it looks like Guilfoyle is thriving, as she teased a potential new romance herself on Valentine's Day, showing off a bouquet of roses on her Instagram story. Guilfoyle's bouquet of bright pink roses were delivered from Miami luxury florist Le Boutique Royal, and retail for about $250. Hinting that there is a new suitor in her life, Guilfoyle simply captioned the post 'thank you' with two pink heart emojis. Guilfoyle was previously married to Governor of California, Gavin Newsom. The marriage collapsed in 2005 after he cheated on her with Ruby Rippey-Tourk, the wife of his then-campaign manager and former deputy chief of staff, Alex Tourk. Three months after her divorce from Newsom was finalized in February 2006, Guilfoyle married again – this time to furniture heir Eric Villency. Their son Ronan was born in October that same year but the marriage was to prove short-lived with the couple divorcing in November 2009.
