Bellevue, WA police investigate attempted kidnaping
The Brief Bellevue police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man suspected of an attempted kidnapping in the Lake Hills area on Friday. The suspect allegedly accosted a 16-year-old girl as they both got off a Metro bus. BELLEVUE, Wash. - Bellevue police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an attempted kidnapping that happened Friday afternoon. What they're saying Officers responded to a report of an attempted kidnapping in the parking lot of the Lake Hills QFC shortly after 4 p.m., located near 145th Place Southeast and Southeast 16th Street. Police said a 16-year-old girl was approached by the suspect after exiting a Metro bus, which the suspect had also been riding. A passerby intervened, and the suspect ran away. Police used a K9 in an attempt to locate the man, but he was not found in the area. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 30s, last seen wearing a black puffy jacket, black pants, and gray shoes or boots. Fight between neighbors leads to deadly Pierce County, WA shooting
The Brief A fight between neighbors reportedly led to a deadly shooting in the Waller area of Pierce County Friday afternoon. Deputies say the two neighbors involved in the shooting had a history of dispute calls in the past. The suspect in the shooting was arrested without incident. WALLER, Wash. - A fight between neighbors reportedly led to a deadly shooting in Pierce County on Friday. What we know It happened in the Waller area, along 44th Avenue East and 60th Street Court East around 4:30 p.m. According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, a man called 911 and reported that he shot his neighbor. Deputies quickly got to the scene, but the victim was already beyond help. The neighbors involved in the shooting had a history of dispute calls, Sheriff's Department spokesperson Carly Cappetto says. The suspect was taken into custody without incident after deputies arrived. He has been cooperative, as of Friday afternoon. Detectives are now conducting interviews with witnesses to try and determine what happened. This incident remains under investigation. Kidnapped child in Seattle found, suspect arrested
The Brief Seattle police have found a child who was reportedly kidnapped and arrested a suspect on Friday. An AMBER Alert was sent out around 5:20 p.m., and canceled around 6 p.m. SEATTLE - Seattle police say an abducted child has been found, and a suspect in the kidnapping is in custody. What we know An AMBER Alert was sent out around 5:20 p.m. regarding the kidnapping of a one-year-old girl from a daycare center, involving a 47-year-old suspect. Just before 6 p.m., Seattle police said they located the child and arrested the suspect. According to police, officers tracked the suspect to Federal Way. After Federal Way police located the suspect's vehicle, she reportedly ran away from officers before being taken into custody. The child was rescued at around 5:45 p.m. The suspect is now being interviewed by police. The child was returned to her family. The circumstances leading up to the kidnapping are under investigation.
