GRPD: Man dead after being pinned between car, tree
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man died after being pinned between a car and a tree in Grand Rapids Tuesday morning, police say.
Police did not release the man's name, but sources indicated to News 8 it was . South Christian High School posted on social media that VanStee, a teacher and coached, died Tuesday. As a result, it postponed its first day of school.
It happened on Annchester Drive SE, in the area of 28th Street and Breton Road, the Grand Rapids Police Department said.
Officers said that the car started rolling after the man got out. When he tried to stop it, he was pinned. He died at the scene.
'This was a tragic accident,' Traffic Unit Supervisor Sgt. Justin Ewald said.
