Mizoram guv praises Serchhip for highest literacy rate

1 2 Aizawl: Mizoram Governor Gen Vijay Kumar Singh, during his visit to central Mizoram's Serchhip district on Monday, praised the district's ongoing initiatives and urged officials to intensify efforts for further progress. Highlighting Serchhip's status as having the highest literacy rate in India, Singh called for leveraging this advantage to sharpen students' skills, implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 effectively, and prepare youth for competitive examinations, especially for central government services. He encouraged optimal use of centrally supported institutions like Eklavya Model Residential Schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. He advised officials to ensure tribal welfare schemes reach the intended beneficiaries, promote food processing and organic farming, and unite against drug abuse to safeguard the youth. Deputy commissioner Paul L Khuma briefed the governor on district developments, including the Vantlang Viltu complaint app, digitised MLA funds, and the full completion of the Jal Jeevan Mission. Aizawl: Mizoram CM Lalduhoma on Wednesday launched the 'Vantlang Viltu' (Citizen's Eye) mobile application, which enables citizens to report issues, grievances, and incidents they witness in their localities directly to the authorities in a systematic manner. Speaking at the launch event held in Serchhip town Lalduhoma expressed appreciation for the initiative. He stated that Citizen's Eye is a meaningful step towards bridging the gap between the govt and the people, ensuring a quick response to public grievances and urgent needs. He praised the deputy commissioner and the development team for their proactive thinking. He also expressed hope that people would use the app responsibly and assured that even small concerns raised through the app would be addressed sincerely by the authorities.
