Joju George and Shaji Kailas team up for mass action entertainer Varavu
Actor Joju George and veteran filmmaker Shaji Kailas are set to collaborate for the first time in a new mass action entertainer titled Varavu. The project was officially announced on Sunday with the release of its title poster, which carries the tagline, 'Revenge Is Not A Dirty Business.' The screenplay is written by scenarist-filmmaker AK Sajan, a long-time collaborator of Shaji, having previously scripted the latter's films such as Suresh Gopi's Chinthamani Kolacase, Mohanlal's Red Chillies and Mammootty's Dhrona 2010.

Joju George, Shaji Kailas team up for revenge drama 'Varavu'; first-look poster out Actor Joju George and critically acclaimed director Shaji Kailas have announced their new movie 'Varavu' by sharing its first look poster on Sunday. Taking to his Instagram handle, the 'Dr Pasupathy' fame director Shaji Kailas shared the first look of the film. The movie is written by AK Saajan and is produced by Naisy Reji under the banner of Olga Productions. As per the first look poster, the film is expected to narrate a tale of revenge starring Joju George in the lead role. The tagline on the poster reflects the same, as it states, "Revenge is not a dirty business." The first look also features a car driving through a lake in the middle of a forest. While sharing the poster, director Shaji Kailas wrote, "Here comes our next film - VARAVU. Revenge is not a dirty business..." The makers have not revealed the release date of the movie yet. Meanwhile, Joju George will also be seen collaborating with the 'Ullozhukku' actress Urvasi Sripada for the movie 'Aasha'. The makers have started the shooting of the film following the pooja ceremony. Taking to their Instagram handle, Ajith Vinayaka Films (official production banner of the film) shared the official poster of the film on the occasion of the muhurat ceremony. The movie will be directed by Safar Sanal and is produced by Ajith Vinayaka. The film is set to be released in five Indian languages, underscoring its pan-Indian appeal. Shaji Kailas, Joju George team up for ‘Varavu'
Director Shaji Kailas, known for his mass entertainers, is teaming up with Joju George for Varavu, the makers announced on Sunday (August 17). This is the first collaboration of the duo. The title poster with the tagline 'Revenge is not a dirty business' hints at another action movie for Shaji, known for his commercial potboilers in political and crime genres. He is joining hands with scriptwriter AK Saajan again after Chintamani Kolacase (2005), Red Chillies (2009) and Dhrona 2010 (2010). Saajan himself has directed films such as Pulimada, starring Joju in the lead, the Mammootty-Nayanthara starrer Puthiya Niyamam and Asif Ali's Asuravithu. Varavu will go on floors on September 6, and the locations include Munnar, Marayoor, Kanthalloor and Theni. The film is said to feature a bevvy of prominent actors. The action-heavy movie has four stunt choreographers on board, including Kalai Kingson and Phoenix Prabu. Cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev, editor Shameer Muhammed and composer Sam CS form the technical crew. Naisy Reji is producing the movie for the banner Olga Productions. While Joju was last seen early this year in Malayalam in Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal and the Tamil movie Thug Life, Shaji's latest directorial venture was Hunt, headlined by Bhavana.
