Lindsey Vonn Opts for Effortless Glam with Messy Bun for ‘F1: The Movie' Premiere in New York City
Lindsey Vonn styled a teased updo on the red carpet for the world premiere of 'F1: The Movie,' directed by Joseph Kosinski and starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, on Monday night in New York City. Honoring the intersection of sports and beauty, the 40-year-old Olympic alpine ski racer donned the bespoke hairstyle not unlike what other athletes might wear during competition.
Outside the theater, Vonn posed for pictures with her platinum blond tresses twisted in a bun on the crown of her head. The four-time World Cup champion left thin pieces of hair out in front of her ears, openly defying the laws of the contemporary slick-back hair revolution popularized on TikTok.

The effortless look was designed in collaboration with artist Frankie Foye, the hair architect who's worked with the likes of Alessandra Ambrosio, Delilah Belle and Jennifer Nettles. For her makeup, Vonn tapped Edward Cruz, the visionary behind actor and musical star Darren Criss' 2025 Tony Awards visage. Cruz also designed Vonn's makeup for the premiere of 'My Mom Jayne: A Film by Mariska Hargitay' during the Tribeca Festival last week.
Vonn's eyes were heavily lined with dark pink shadow to accentuate the pigmented blush on her cheekbones. The hard-to-miss color carried down in her waterlines, while her pursed lips were painted in a light gloss. She wore extensions on the outer edges of her eyelashes and used a medium-brown pencil to shade her eyebrows.
Styled by Kara Cook, Vonn's outfit included a brown leather jacket and a black mini skirt by Vassia Kostara Limited Collections. She wore matching fingerless gloves, cosplaying as a fashionable F1 racer who likes to wear brown pointed-toe pumps.
Elsewhere on the carpet, Pitt stepped out with his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, who also opted for a loose bun with front pieces framing her face. The jewelry designer, who has been linked to the Oscar winner since 2022, paired the popular hairstyle with a baby blue, two-piece set plucked straight from Chanel's spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection. The delicate ensemble was complemented by soft glam — a no-makeup, makeup look, if you will. Apart from a deep coral-colored matte lipstick and bronze shadow in her eyecrease, de Ramon wore minimal face makeup.
In 'F1: The Movie,' which is set to release in theaters on June 27, Pitt stars as a former Formula 1 driver, who cuts his retirement short to mentor a younger driver, played by actor Idris. Vonn came out of retirement last year after declaring the end of her career as a professional athlete in 2019.
