Amazon cordless hoover that 'rates as highly' as Vax gets £20 price slash
Many Amazon shoppers have praised this cordless vacuum for being lightweight and easy to assemble. While cleaning is a tedious chore, many people try to find ways to make the experience easier and quicker to complete. One change that many Brits are making is swapping their traditional vacuum cleaner for a cordless device. Lightweight and easy to move around, cordless vacuums take away the struggle of annoying wires getting in the way and limiting the amount of space you can clean at one time. While these nifty machines are a game-changer for cleaning, they can cost shoppers a pretty penny to purchase. Thankfully, Amazon has dropped the price of one vacuum that shoppers are saying is as good as renowned brands such as Dyson and Vax. Normally retailing for £99.99, shoppers can now snatch up Powerffy Cordless Vacuum Cleaner for £79.99 in a limited time deal. As an appliance that is all about efficient cleaning, the Powerffy vacuum boasts a 2200mAh battery and delivers a robust run time of 45 minutes, reports the Mirror. While it takes 4.5 hours to recharge, the vacuum comes with the added bonus of being able to charge the battery separately rather than the whole device. With a 30KPA suction, shoppers will be able to clean up dust, debris, pet hair, cat litter and even dog food with ease. On top of this, all nooks and crannies will be sparkling as the hoover promises flexibility as it boasts a 0 to 180 degree lateral and a 0 to 90 degree vertical rotation. No spec of dust will be left behind as the vacuum comes with bright LED lights to reveal mess hidden in even the darkest of corners. The vacuum also comes with a range of attachments to make your cleaning experience as simple a possible. Powerffy Cordless Vacuum Cleaner Product Description Another hoover that has been reduced on Amazon is the VACTechPro V15 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. Normally retailing for £129.99, shoppers can now buy it for £99.99. This lightweight and compact vacuum features a 35KPA strong suction and a run time of 45 minutes. Alternatively, Argos is selling the Tower Pro Cordless Vacuum Cleaner with Detangling for £75. Said to remove 99.95 per cent of fine particles, this vacuum's battery life ranges from 15 to 35 minutes depending on the setting selected. The device also comes with an anti-tangle floor head and a HEPA filter. The Powerffy Cordless Vacuum currently has a 4.5 star rating from Amazon shoppers, with many praising the vacuum for being easy to assemble and lightweight. One happy shopper said: "This seems good so far, very lightweight which is what I was looking for. Very easy to assemble and also has an attachment so can use on stairs. The green light is actually very useful as you can really see more dirt. Easy to empty. So far so good but I've only used every day- I do have high hopes though as it has good suction for a stick vacuum." Another five-star reviewer added: "Ordered this when Dyson died and a new battery (which we presumed we needed, but weren't sure) was going to cost about £80 from our local guy!! Read the reviews and hey presto, we got one. "Pleased with it, does the job just as well as the Dyson and it was a good price, the lights on it are helpful too, and the display for the battery is great. Easy to see, and charging is simple. I didn't bother with the wall mount as it is perfectly happy being propped up in the cupboard!" However, a three-star reviewer wasn't completely blown away, writing: "Ok for very light vacuuming. Good on high suction setting but very short battery life on high power." Whereas another shopper wished the device was more powerful: "This vacuum is easy to use, cordless, and great quality. The small attachment has excellent suction power, but I wish the main wand attachment had stronger suction. Overall, it's a solid choice for quick, efficient cleaning." On the flip side, another delighted shopper said: "I've had this cleaner for a week now, and, I have to say it's excellent. All the silly bits of cotton lint that's doesn't usually get sucked in, gets sucked in! It's so lightweight, which is brilliant as I have arthritis in my hands, moves round corners, easy to empty too. "The price was also great, it's a make I've never heard off, but will definitely buy from them again. I really can't rate this cleaner highly enough, it came in a small, very lightweight box, wasn't expecting it to be as compact. I've had Dyson, Vax cleaners before and in my opinion, it rates as highly as those makes. Try it, you won't be disappointed." Click HERE to buy the Powerffy Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. 'I've used this Shark Mop for 6 months - my floors have never look cleaner'
'My floors have never looked more sparkling' - The Shark Steam Mop Tech Commerce Editor Harriet uses at home is now on sale Gone are the days of a mop and bucket, steaming hot appliances have swiftly become the go-to in many households to get the floors gleaming while banishing germs at the same time. Often dubbed a 'must-have' brand, Dyson has its washG1, an all-in-one vacuum and mop which sucks up dirt and mops floors but at £499 the price is certainly eyewatering - I use one of Shark's rival products and not only does it cut cleaning times it's £400 cheaper. The Shark Kick n' Flip Automatic Steam Mop uses hot steam instead of the traditional bucket of soapy water, and because of the heat there's no need for chemical-infused cleaning products. Usually £139.99 it's now on sale for £99 - hundreds cheaper than Dyson's much pricier alternative. Unlike Dyson's model this doesn't have a vacuum, so that's a huge feature it's missing, but when it comes to mopping this nimble device has been game-changing. I swapped to the Shark Kick n' Flip at the beginning of the year, my floors are less grubby, the bathroom tiles come up shiny, and it can cover my whole flat in about 10 minutes. It's simple to use, all I do is fill up the container with water and choose the steam setting - I personally always go for 'hi'. There's the choice of three options; low, medium, and 'hi.' These can be used on a variety of different floors like the wooden laminate in my living room kitchen and tiles in my bathrooms. Looking at the size of the Shark pads, they also seem more nimble than other options. For example, this cheaper Steam Fresh Combi from Vax (now £79.99) has a bigger triangle-like mop head which may be slightly bigger but looks trickier to get under furniture. Shark Kick n' Flip Product Description If there's a particular mark or spot then the steam blast technology is great for this - in homage to its 'kick n' flip' name all I do is flop over the mop head with my foot and press down on the handle, which blasts out concentrated, high power amount of steam to help get rid of stubborn stains. Once done with cleaning, the dirt pad (or mop head) can be released with a click of a button, which releases it from the mop. It goes face down, meaning I don't have to touch any of the grime, just chuck it straight into the washing machine on a warm wash. The only thing that I've found is it's worth buying more of the detachable mop heads than what comes free with purchase (two) as this is good for switching up between the kitchen and bathrooms. I've used the Shark Steam Mop for nearly six months and not run into any major problems. It's still working as well as the first time I unboxed it, which is why I decided to flag a product I've bought with my own money, instead of it being something I've been sent to review. I'd recommend it to anyone in need of an affordable cleaning upgrade. Shoppers online have also shared their delight with it, and especially like the unique steam sprayer. As one person said: "Brilliant love this so easy to use. Does a great job of cleaning my floors, love the option to trigger more steam which is simple to do . "Only four-stars as the cord is not long enough and water tank could do with been a little bigger so less refills however wouldn't put me off getting another one." Another shopper said: "This is our third purchase of this steam mop because it really is the best we have found of its kind. it does not remain upright unless propped or held up. It is really easy to knock or pull over when switching plug sockets which may damage it." Like the above shopper, I've also come into the same issue with it not being able to stand on its own, but I personally don't mind this. Instead of propping it up I make sure to lay it flat, and no water has ever leaked out of it when doing this.

And to help make lighter work of the chore in hand, you can invest in a spray or a steam mop. But does paying top prices guarantee better results? I decided to try out a selection of best-sellers to find out. Here's what happened... Read more on tests PAY LESS I tried bargain new £250 mobile - why you DON'T need to waste money on a new phone Vileda Rinse Clean Spin Mop and Bucket System £49.99 9 The Vileda mop was expensive Credit: Oliver Dixon I loved this spin mop and bucket but I thought it was quite expensive at nearly £50. The Aldi one does basically the same job - but for £35 less. It works in the same way with two buckets to separate the clean and dirty water. The microfibre mop head was great at clearing tough dirt and grime and seemed durable. It was triangular in shape which was good for getting right into corners. The best thing was the foot-pedal operated winger which allows you to control the dampness of the mop head. Performance: 3/5 Value: 3/5 Total score: 6/10 Mrs Hinch loves it but it's the most toxic cleaning product ever… I've seen it do so much damage & I'm a pro cleaner Minky 4-in-1 Action Spray Mop £22 9 No bucket needed for this Minky spray mop Credit: Oliver Dixon No need to waste time filling a bucket with this spray mop. Simply fill the bottle with your cleaning solution, spray the floor and wipe away. The triple action pads were super effective and left my floor gleaming. The non-scratch heads were great at getting rid of stubborn dirt and it easily reached under furniture and around skirting boards. The only issue is I found the spray bottle leaked a little bit of solution and it's a shame it doesn't come with replacement mop heads, which would boost its value rating. Performance: 3/5 Value: 3/5 Total score: 6/10 Flash Speed Mop Starter Kit £12 9 The Flash mop is a good budget option Credit: Oliver Dixon If you need a fuss-free, budget-friendly option, it is worth considering this Flash mop. It doesn't feel the sturdiest. The handle is quite thin and you can't adjust it. But the head does pivot into tight corners and the cloths were fantastic and picking up and trapping dirt. The cloths were easy to fit and remove. It did a good job of cleaning tiles and glided beautifully around a wood laminate floor, providing a very happy and productive cleaning session. No fancy bells and whistles but it got the job done. Performance: 3/5 Value: 4/5 Total score: 7/10 Aldi Easy Home Spin Mop £14.99 9 Aldi offered a good budget option Credit: Oliver Dixon What impressed me most about Aldi's wallet-friendly option was this mop's incredible ability to clean right into tight corners and under furniture. The two separate buckets mean you can separate dirty water from clean and it is suitable for all hard floors. The downside is the bucket is quite large, so it's not the easiest to store if you are tight on space. But for less than £15, you all get two mop head refills. It's great value. Performance: 3/5 Value: 5/5 Total score: 8/10 Karcher SE1 Upright Steam Mop £69 9 Karcher mop was small and got to work quickly Credit: Oliver Dixon One of the best steam mops I've tested. Not only is it small, compact and lightweight, the water tank sits on the head of the mop and it gets hot enough to start generating steam within 30 seconds. Others took a lot longer to heat up. It has a built-in descaling cartridge, so there will be no limescale or scum left behind on your floors, either. I liked that the mop pad has a hook and loop fastening, so, when you're removing a dirty pad, you won't have to touch it, keeping your hands free from any dirt and bacteria the mop has picked up from the floors. The only negative I have is that the water tank is too small and needs to be topped up quite frequently, which was a pain." Performance: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Total score: 8/10 Bona Premium Spray Mop £42.99 9 This mop sprays just the right amount Credit: Oliver Dixon This mop was brilliant - performing most effectively on wooden floors, giving them with a nice shine with minimal effort. The mop sprays just the right amount of liquid on the floor so it dries quickly and there is no slippery or damp floor to manage afterwards. It's lightweight with a good swivel head, so it can manoeuvre easily into tight spaces or under furniture. The handle and trigger are nicely designed, so it's comfortable to hold and spray cleaning solution as and when you need it. The handle isn't adjustable and is quite tall so you might need to bear that in mind if you are shorter. I'm 5ft 7ins and it was comfortable for me. The microfibre pad was great at picking up dust and hair - but I found it best to give the floor a quick vacuum beforehand. Performance: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Total score: 8/10 Vax Steam Fresh Total Home Cleaner £99.99 9 The Vax mop costs a lot but can be used for other areas Credit: Oliver Dixon Pricey, but this will clean more than your kitchen floor. It comes with a whole host of accessories designed to clean everything from windows and tiles to grout and hard-to-reach areas. It can also be used on carpets and rugs. I found myself blasting steam at every stain I came across and it made light work of most of them and was deeply satisfying to use. It even got rid of a tough stain on the floor by my kitchen island that I've been battling to get rid of for months. All the attachments are easily stored on board the unit so it wasn't too big to store. It also kills 99.9 per cent of bacteria so I felt like my entire home had had a deep clean after using this. Worth every penny. Performance: 5/5 Value: 4/5 Total score: 9/10 Lakeland Double-Sided Floor Mop £29.99 9 The Lakeland mop was the most impressive Credit: Oliver Dixon This double-sided mop has a chenille side and a microfibre side so you can scrub away and deep clean your floors. Once clean, simply flip over and use the other side to dry your floors. This means you don't have to wait around waiting for it to dry. It's a sleek, light weight design weighing just 0.8kg and yet it has a generous 750ml water tank so you didn't have to keep refilling it in the middle of the job. Very effective, leaving floors shiny and dirt free. An excellent product for less than £30. Performance: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Total score: 10/10

Vax with 300 five-star reviews now better than half price in Amazon Prime deal
Amazon Prime subscribers can get a great deal on a new vacuum this spring With spring cleaning season in full flow, the least enjoyable part for many is dragging a heavy vacuum cleaner around the house. It's easy to see why this is a dreaded part of the cleaning routine - especially if the vacuum isn't up to scratch. There are many vacuum brands out there, however Vax is known for offering shoppers a range of vacuums with a powerful performance. Vax is also an option for nabbing a bargain on a well loved brand - and Amazon Prime members are now in luck as they can get the Vax Air Lift 2 Pet Plus Upright Vacuum for £101.74 down from £219.99 on Amazon - over 50% off. This corded upright vacuum is designed to give homes a thorough clean, with strong suction and dual brush bars that work well on both carpets and hard floors. The VersaClean Technology helps lift and agitate dirt as shoppers go, so it's effective across different surfaces without needing to change settings. It also switches into a smaller, high-performance vacuum in just a few seconds, making it easy to clean places like stairs, upholstery, and the car. The Turbo Tool is handy for picking up pet hair or cleaning tight spaces like car boots, while the Textile Tool with the Tough Brush Attachment helps remove stubborn dirt from fabric surfaces. Whatever shoppers need the vacuum for, it guarantees a smooth and easy result. If this vacuum isn't calling out to shoppers, they could opt for the Shark PowerDetect Corded Stick Vacuum Cleaner for £199.99, which has two brush-rolls and multiple sensors react and adapt for optimal performance, is designed to work in both forward and reverse for faster debris pickup and can sense floor type and adjusts brush-roll speed and suction to optimise cleaning performance. The cleaner is lightweight as it weighs less than 5kg for easy lifting. Another option could be the Dyson Ball Animal from Dyson for £279.99, which is said to automatically de-tangle hair for powerful deep cleaning on all surfaces with no loss of suction, rides on a ball for easier manoeuvrability, and is perfect for deep cleaning homes with pets. The Vax Air Lift 2, however, has a 4.1 out of 5-star rating from a total of 546 reviews on Amazon. One shopper wrote: 'The vacuum cleaner has very good suction and leaves the carpet looking nice. The versatility of design is convenient and allows the body of the cleaner to remain whilst vacuuming walls and shelves etc whilst not being too heavy.' 'Only had it a month. Never going back to cordless, this is great. I'd say it's light compared to other corded vacuum cleaners, but obviously still a bit heavy. The only thing I don't like is that the attachments are a bit flimsy. I used the one with the rotating brush for the stairs, and it doesn't spin if it touches the carpet - not great, but it still picks up the dirt,' said another. Another shopper wrote: 'Very pleased with this cleaner, it reaches right into corners and along the edges. It has very good suction and I would recommend it.' However, a handful of people weren't on the same page and shared their opposing views. One wrote: 'Does a great job but it is very heavy.' Another said: 'The bottom doesn't rotate much and isn't as flexible as I assumed.' However, with over 300 five-star reviews on Amazon and over 50% off for Prime members, the Vax Air Lift 2 sounds like a solid choice for shoppers.

Quick-drying carpet cleaner hailed a 'game-changer' by shoppers has over £100 saving
Carpet cleaners are often considered rental items from hardware stores like B&Q, but buying one might be more wallet-friendly than you'd first think. Vax, renowned for vacuum and carpet cleaning gear, has several models up its sleeve, including the SpinScrub Power Plus. With a neat price tag of £249.99, it's an item to consider splurging on, but thanks to Amazon's spring sale, it's now slashed by £108.83. In what seems like a bargain hunter's delight, the cleaner is being dished out at £141.16 for a limited period. Engineered with five rotating brushes, this cleaner takes on carpets from every possible angle, promising deep cleaning. And if that wasn't enough to tempt you, upon registration with Vax, it also boasts a six-year guarantee, reports Birmingham Live. Consider a compact spot cleaner as an alternative for those short on space. On Shark's official site, the StainStriker Stain and Spot Cleaner is available for £120, reduced from £149.99. If that doesn't tickle your fancy, Curry's sells BISSELL's SpotClean Pet Pro for £149. Rocketing in popularity, Vax's SpinScrub Power Plus is celebrating a 4.5-star satisfaction score on Amazon, hitting over 1,000 sales last month alone. A chuffed customer boasted: "Absolutely fantastic. It brings carpets up like new. It's easy to set up and use. The hose attachment is easy to use on stairs. It's really good value for money." A third buyer enthused: " This is a really good, easy-to-use cleaner! Like all carpet cleaners, its a bit noisy but not unbearable! Simple to set up and changing the dirty water is also easy. All in all, a great cleaner." Yet, another customer gave it three stars, remarking: "My carpet wasn't too dirty yet; it took me multiple attempts to clean it, but it doesn't look as clean as a professional clean; it's just good enough. My stairs were dirty, and the weight of the machine is a lot, while the hand tool is not powerful enough. Also, if stopped between cleans, the hand tool lost spray and had to be taken out and inserted multiple times for water pressure to come back." A fourth shopper provided a lengthy critique, saying: "As someone who has a busy household with animals and lives in the countryside, maintaining clean carpets is always a challenge, but this machine has been an XL game-changer. I've had other carpet cleaners in the past, and constantly having to stop and refill the tank was a hassle. With this one, I can clean large areas in one go without needing to stop, which is a huge time-saver. The machine itself is easy to set up and use, albeit on the heavy side." They continue: " The SpinScrub technology works wonders on stubborn stains and ground-in dirt. I was honestly shocked at how much dirt it pulled out of my carpets – dirt I didn't even know was there! After using it, my carpets looked noticeably brighter and fresher, almost like they were brand new again. One feature I absolutely love is the quick dry time. I was worried that I'd have to wait hours for the carpets to dry, but they were dry to the touch much faster than I expected. This is especially important for me since I have animals running around." They added: "The 6-year guarantee gives me extra peace of mind. It's clear that Vax stands behind its product, and that level of confidence in a product is reassuring. I feel this machine is a solid investment that's going to last me a long time. The only downside, if I had to pick one, is that the machine is a bit on the heavier side. However, given the powerful cleaning it provides, I think that's a fair trade-off. Plus, the large wheels make it easy to manoeuvre, so it's not too cumbersome to use. I highly recommend giving Vax SpinScrub a try. It's been a fantastic addition to our home!"
