Govt aims to make poor house owners: Bojju Patel

Khanapur: The State government is implementing the Indiramma Indla scheme with great ambition to fulfill the dreams of the poor to own their own homes, said MLA Vedma Bojju Patel. The MLA handed over the sanction documents to Indiramma Indla beneficiaries and performed the groundwork for the construction of houses in Ginnera village of Indravelli mandal and Hirapur (J) village of Utnoor mandal on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that the welfare of the poor is the aim of the state government. He made it clear that Indiramma houses will be provided to every deserving poor person. He said that the development of villages is possible only with the Congress party. He said that the state government is working for the people of the lower classes. He said that the welfare schemes being implemented by the state government should be taken advantage of. Officials, Congress party leaders and others participated in this programme.

Khanapur: Khanapur constituency MLA Vedma Bojju Patel asserted that it is not right for the Forest Department officials to trouble tribal people as well as SC, BC and, minority people. 'Otherwise a revolt is inevitable,' he claimed. Participating in a meeting held at the Secretariat in Hyderabad under the chairmanship of Ministers DA Seethakka and Konda Surekha, the MLA vented expressed his anger on the department officials. Addressing the meeting, he said, 'It is not right to use field-level officers who are performing duties in AC rooms as pawns and cause trouble to the people.' He suggested that they go to the field level and see the problems and work to solve them. He demanded that permissions be given to dig borewells sanctioned under the Indira Soura Giri Jal Vikasam Scheme. He said permissions should also be given to heavy vehicles in the Kawal Tiger Zone. He made it clear that if the tribals, who rely on the forest for their livelihood are troubled, the people themselves will rebel. He said that the tribals who earn their living with bamboo and beedi leaves should not be troubled and that the State government should not obstruct the work of 3-phase electricity, CC road, and Indiramma houses. 'The government is working to improve road facilities in forest villages like Allampalli, Wayipet, and Ankenarayadhari. This should not be hindered,' he said.

Khanapur: Local constituency MLA Vedma Bojju Patel on Sunday went to Lothorya Thanda in Pembi mandal along with former MLA Ajmira Rekha Shyam Nayak to visit the victims' family members upon learning about a gruesome road accident that took the life of sisters Banawat Ashwini and Manjula. 'It is sad that Ashwini and Manjula, sisters from Lothorya Thanda, died in a road accident that took place near Argul village in Jakranpalli mandal of Nizamabad district on Friday,' he said. The MLA also provided financial assistance of Rs 20,000 to the victim's family. He said that the sudden death of a student with a bright future was deeply distressing. He assured that the government would support the victim's family. He said that Indiramma would provide houses and take steps to provide employment opportunities.
