Vikram To Start Filming For Action Thriller Chiyaan64 In September
Chiyaan64, a brutal action thriller, will feature Vikram in an intense avatar like never before. After winning hearts with his role in Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, Chiyaan Vikram has joined forces with filmmaker C Prem Kumar for his next film. Tentatively titled Chiyaan64, the film marks the first collaboration between Vikram and the director, known for his work in 96 and Meiyazhagan, has been creating buzz ever since made official. According to the fresh updates, Chiyaan64 will see the actor in a ruthless role. Cinema Vikatan reported that Chiyaan64, a brutal action thriller, will feature the Thangalaan actor in an intense avatar like never before. In another thrilling update, the film is set to go on floors in August or September 2025. While more details about the shoot have been kept under wraps, the screenplay by Prem Kumar himself has reportedly impressed Vikram. The announcement of the film was made by Vels Film International, the production banner behind the upcoming project. In a post on X, the makers wrote, 'A collaboration that promises magic on screen. It has been reported that Vikram will begin shooting for his 63rd film after completing the Prem Kumar project. Meanwhile, Prem Kumar is also planning a sequel to 96 with Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan. However, he will start working on the romance drama after wrapping Vikram's film. Coming back to Chiyaan Vikram, the actor was last seen in a lead role in the neo-noir actioner titled Veera Dheera Sooran: Part – 2. The movie, directed by SU Arun Kumar, follows the story of a former henchman, Kaali, who steps in to help his old boss, trying to pacify a police officer. Things take an interesting turn after Kaali is compelled to choose between his boss and his family. Alongside Vikram, the film featured SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dushara Vijayan and more in key roles. It is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Meanwhile, Vikram's Chiyaan 63 is backed by Arun Viswa of Shanthi Talkies. This film marks Shanthi Talkies' second collaboration with Madonne after Maaveeran. No further details about the film have been announced after its initial announcement in 2024. Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, directed by SU Arun Kumar, which was released in March this year, was critically and commercially acclaimed. Prem Kumar's last venture Meiyazhagan, starring Karthi and Arvind Swamy too was praised widely upon its release last year. He has also finished scripting the '96 sequel. Having joined hands after successful box office hits, Prem Kumar and Vikram's collaboration has sparked curiosity and interest on social media. Vels Film International's slate also includes Sundar C, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Vetri Maaran, Mari Selvaraj, Jude Anthany Joseph, Arunraja Kamaraja, Vignesh Raja, Chella Ayyavu, and Ganesh K Babu. YouTuber VJ Sidhu is also set to make his directorial debut under the Vels banner.

‘Chiyaan 64': Vikram teams up with filmmaker Prem Kumar for his next
Tamil superstar Vikram has teamed up with filmmaker Prem Kumar of 96 and Meiyazhagan fame for his next. Tentatively called Chiyaan 64, the film will be produced by Ishari K Ganesh under his Vels Film International banner. The production banner shared pictures of Vikram, Prem, Ganesh and Kushmitha Ganesh to announce the news. Details regarding the film's genre, plot and the cast and crew remain unknown at the moment. Interestingly, Prem Kumar, known for making light-hearted films, had revealed in a recent interview that he has a violence-heavy action script, which has now created buzz among fans of Vikram who are speculating if Chiyaan 64 is based on that script. Vikram is coming off the success of Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, directed by SU Arun Kumar. The actor has teamed up with Mandela and Maaveeran director Madonne Ashwin for his 63rd film. Prem, on the other hand, last helmed the critically acclaimed Meiyazhagan, starring Karthi and Arvind Swamy. Though initially panned by audiences for its unconventional storytelling, rave reviews and good word-of-mouth helped the film tremendously. The film did exceptionally well after its premiere on Netflix, drawing attention even from all over the nation. Interestingly, Prem had recently stated that he has finished writing the sequel of 96, his acclaimed 2018 debut film.

Nivin Pauly's film with Akhil Sathyan titled ‘Sarvam Maya'; first look out
We had previously reported that Malayalam star Nivin Pauly has teamed up with Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum-maker Akhil Sathyan for a new film. Now, on Tuesday (July 1), the makers announced that the film's been titled Sarvam Maya. The makers unveiled a first-look poster of the film to announce the news. The poster features Nivin's character, with the sacred ash on his forehead, looking above with a raised eyebrow. According to reports, the film is a musical romance with fantasy elements in the mix. Starring Preity Mukhundhan as the female lead, the cast of Sarvam Maya also features Aju Varghese, Althaf Salim, and Janardhanan among others. According to reports, Riya Shibu, the influencer and producer known for producing Vikram's Tamil film Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, is also starring in a pivotal role in Sarvam Maya. With music scored by Justin Prabhakaran, the film has cinematography by Sharan Velayudhan. Director Akhil has also edited the film. Ajayya Kumar and Rajeev Menon produce Sarvam Maya under their Fire Fly Films production banner. Notably, apart from this, Nivin also has Dolby Dineshan with Thamar KV; Baby Girl, directed by Arun Varma of Garudan fame; Dear Students, co-starring Nayanthara;Multiverse Manmadhan, a superhero film; the much-awaited sequel film Action Hero Biju 2; and Shekhara Varma Rajavu, directed by Anurag Manohar, in various stages of production. While the actor's long-delayed Tamil film Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai is expected to release soon, he is set to make a splash in Raghava Lawrence's upcoming film Benz, which is part of the popular Lokesh Cinematic Universe.

Amid much anticipation, Vikram 's Tamil action thriller Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 has finally made its way to OTT. Directed by SU Arun Kumar, the film is currently streaming on Prime Video. It is available in five languages – Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. The action-packed drama boasts a talented bunch of stars including SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dushara Vijayan and Prudhvi Raj. Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 made its digital debut less than a month after its theatrical release. The makers stepped in with the announcement of its arrival on OTT last week. On Friday, April 18, the official page of Prime Video, dropped a post on Instagram. It featured the film's poster, attached to a side note that read, 'One night. No rules. Only survival. A night that will change everything." A doting father and husband, the protagonist tries to escape the world of crime but a deadly task takes him back to where he left off. What follows next is a tale of bloodshed, betrayal and raw emotion. Interestingly, the makers also announced the movie's prequel, Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 1, which is yet to go on floors. The news left many wondering about the title and the director was also quizzed about the same at the audio launch of the film in March this year. Replying, director SU Arun Kumar, revealed, 'It was Vikram's idea. When I first narrated the script to him, I told him that we could make a sequel to this film, and it was a continuation. And he told me to call it a second part, as it would be an apt title. So, he was the reason behind the title." Veera Dheera Sooran faced legal trouble before its release as production company B4U had approached the Delhi High Court due to a contractual dispute with HR Pictures, who bankrolled the Vikram-starrer.
