Special summer trains between Ernakulam & Velankanni
Kochi: Southern Railways has announced special trains between Ernakulam and Velankanni to accommodate extra rush of passengers during summer season. It stated that train no. 06061/06062 Ernakulam Jn – Velankanni – Ernakulam Jn Express will be the special trains, operational from May no. SR announces special trains between Velankanni and Ernakulam
Madurai: Southern Railway has announced special trains between the pilgrim town of Velankanni and Ernakulam to clear the extra rush of passengers during this summer season. According to a statement, train No. 06061 Ernakulam Junction – Velankanni Express Special will leave Ernakulam at 11.50pm on May 14, 21, 28, and June 4 (Wednesdays) and reach Velankanni at 3.15pm the next day (4 services).In the return direction, train No. 06062 Velankanni – Ernakulam Express Special will leave Velankanni at 6.40pm on May 15, 22, 29, and June 5 (Thursdays) and reach Ernakulam at 11.55am the next day (4 services).These trains will have a coach composition of one AC two-tier, three AC three-tier, eight sleeper class, four general second class, and two second class coaches (Divyangjan friendly).These trains will stop at Kottayam, Changanasseri, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayankulam, Karunagapalli, Sasthankotta, Kollam, Kundara, Kottarakara, Auvaneswaram, Punalur, Tenmalai, Sengottai, Tenkasi, Kadayanallur, Sankarankovil, Rajapalayam, Sivakasi, Virudhunagar, Aruppukottai, Manamadurai, Karaikudi, Arantangi, Peravurani, Pattukottai, Adirampattinam, Tiruturaipoondi, Tiruvarur, and reservation for these trains will commence at 8am on May 9.

The Southern Railway will operate the following special trains from Ernakulam to clear the extra rush of passengers during the summer season. Ernakulam Junction – Velankanni Express Special (Train No. 06061) will leave Ernakulam Junction at 11.50 p.m. on May 14, 21, 28, and June 4 (all Wednesdays), and reach Velankanni at 3.15 a.m. the following day. In the return direction, Velankanni – Ernakulam Junction Express Special (Train No. 06062) will leave Velankanni at 6.40 p.m. on May 15, 22, 29, and June 5 (all Thursdays), and reach Ernakulam Junction at 11.55 a.m. the following day. The coach composition will include one AC two-tier coach, three AC three-tier coaches, eight sleeper class coaches, four general second class coaches, and two second class coaches (Divyangjan-friendly). Advance reservation for the special trains will open at 8 a.m. on May 9, according to a release.
