Hennessey Reveals The Super Venom Mustang
Read the full story on Backfire News Texas tuning shop Hennessey has a reputation for pushing the envelope, and the newly revealed Super Venom Mustang follows that tradition faithfully. As the company says, this 'ultimate Hennessey Mustang' gives the best in power, aerodynamics, even looks for a vehicle which will impress many. Prominently featured on the car is a completely new, bespoke VenomAero kit made of carbon fiber. Not only do the components improve handling at speed, they're designed to enhance cooling. Among the additions is a duck bill integrated into the rear deck lid and a tall fixed rear wing, which might seem excessive to some. While the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 has been played with successfully by many, it's still impressive to see Hennessey has boosted the one for the Super Venom from 500-bhp to 850-bhp, a 70 percent increase in power. Torque has been dialed up 55 percent to 650 lb.-ft. at 4,900 rpm. According to Hennessey, the Super Venom can do 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds, blowing away the Dark Horse, which does it in 3.7 seconds. It's also a ten-second car, running the quarter mile in 10.9 seconds at 133 mph versus the Dark Horse logging 12 seconds at 118.4 mph. With those performance specs, the Super Venom should really move. But if you want one, you'll have to be similarly fast. Hennessey says it's only make 91 units total. That number wasn't just pulled out of thin air but instead represents the company's founding in 1991. If you want one, you have to order a Super Venom through an authorized Hennessey Ford dealer. We don't expect these to last long, even with GT models priced at $149,950 and Dark Horse models going for $163,950. Buyers can add one of three bespoke liveries to their Super Venom in black, silver, or red. Founder and CEO of Hennessey Performance, John Hennessey, expressed excitement about this latest model. 'Over the years we have only branded our most potent cars with our 'Venom' trademark: Venom Vipers, Venom GT and most recently our Venom F5. We are excited to unveil our SUPER VENOM Mustang as it offers supercar performance and can now be ordered directly from Ford dealers with a full warranty! Further, we are excited to commemorate our company's founding in 1991 by offering only 91 units and a unique '91 Icon' livery.' Images via Hennessey Performance

Hennessey reveals buff SUPER VENOM Mustang to celebrate its anniversary
What better way is there to celebrate your company's anniversary than by creating a purebred, pavement-punishing pony? Automotive manufacturer and tuner Hennessey feels the same way, which is why it is celebrating its 34th anniversary with a 91-unit run of the new SUPER VENOM on either the current Mustang GT or Dark Horse, the SUPER VENOM enhances the factory 5.0L V8 engine, boosting its original 500 hp to an impressive 850 hp and increasing torque by 55 percent, reaching a maximum of 650 lb-ft. The performance enhancements needed to achieve those numbers include a high-flow air induction system, high-performance supercharger, upgraded fuel injectors and fuel pump, as well as Hennessey's engine management system. The engine can be paired with either a 10-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual. 0-60 mph times drop from 3.7 seconds in the regular Dark Horse to 3.2 seconds, with a ¼ mile time of 10.9 seconds at 133 SUPER VENOM wears 20-inch lightweight performance wheels and the new and bespoke "VenomAero" carbon fiber performance kit, which includes a more aggressive front splitter, a functional front hood vent, side skirts, functional front fender louvers, a rear trunk lid with an integrated duck bill, and a tall, fixed rear track wing. Hennessey claims these aerodynamic improvements increase handling and cooling to match the ponies under the hood. The automaker's newest creation can be adorned with one of three bespoke "91 Icon Livery" liveries, named after the company's founding year, in either black, silver, or red over the factory paint color. Hennessey and SUPER VENOM badging are spread throughout the body, while the rear wing has a ghosted Hennessey logo. The cabin is dressed in bespoke Hennessey leather and Alcantara seats in either blue or black. Customers can choose between the comfort or Recaro sports seats, with either one wearing an embossed Hennessey signature logo. The center console and dash include a plaque showcasing each SUPER VENOM Mustang's individual serial number, ensuring that passengers know they're riding in something can't go wrong with an all-American V8 Mustang (legally) screaming its tires off. Those performance numbers are serious business, and we hope the owners take advantage of them. Speaking of owning one of these things, not only are they limited to 91 units (because Hennessey was founded in 1991), but the automaker didn't announce a price either. If you're interested in having one in your stable, orders are now being taken either by Hennessey directly or by authorized Hennessey Ford dealers like Galpin Ford, Ken Grody Ford, 5-Star Ford, Riddick-Brown Ford, Kunes Ford, Veterans Ford of Tampa, and Sarchione Ford. Given the bespoke nature of the SUPER VENOM and all of the performance upgrades, we expect its MSRP to easily reach six figures. Nobody ever said that being cool was cheap. Love reading Autoblog?
