Ex-Magic 2-Time All-Star Pushing for NBA Comeback After Two Year Absence

Ex-Magic 2-Time All-Star Pushing for NBA Comeback After Two Year Absence originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Former Orlando Magic star guard Victor Oladipo hasn't played in the NBA since the 2022-23 season. Oladipo has dealt with various injuries in his career, and it has gravely affected him. However, recent reports revealed that the two-time All-Star is planning a comeback in the league. The last team he played for was the Miami Heat, where he was a backup guard. His stint with the Heat wasn't as memorable compared to his time with the Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder or Indiana Pacers. However, he showed that he can thrive in a bench role. During that season, Oladipo appeared in 42 games, averaging 10.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists on 33% shooting from deep. Now that he's had time to get his body recovered, the former No. 2 pick is making a push to return to the league. According to ESPN's Jeremy Woo, Oladipo has had private workouts in Las Vegas. Both NBA and European teams have attended and were reportedly impressed with what he's shown. 'The two-time All-Star, 33, was part of a well-attended private workout in Las Vegas on Monday morning, with a large contingent of NBA and European teams attending,' Woo wrote. 'Oladipo played full-court five-on-five in a group workout of international pros. Multiple team sources in attendance came away impressed, with Oladipo described as being in excellent shape as he pursues another comeback.' The former Most Improved Player winner also announced that he's in excellent condition. Earlier this week, he posted on social media about his desire to return to the NBA. "I know I can help any team in any role win in any way! I also know the people want to see me succeed in this game and play at the highest level again. My injuries are behind me and it will never happen again!" Oladipo posted on X. Oladipo was part of the Magic for three years. During his time in Orlando, he averaged 15.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists. He was also second in the Rookie of the Year Race in story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jul 16, 2025, where it first appeared.

Warriors may unite Steph Curry with former $85 million 2-time All-Star after Bradley Beal news

The Golden State Warriors appeared to be potential suitors for 3-time All-Star and former 31.3-point scoring guard Bradley Beal, but it was not to be. Beal agreed to sign a 2-year, $11 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers following a contract buyout from the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, ending the Warriors' pursuit and continuing the franchise's underwhelming offseason. Though the NBA's 2025 free agency class will not be touted as one of the best in league history, Golden State has not performed an addition or transaction of any kind despite involvement in countless offseason rumors. With Beal heading to the Clippers and free agent guard De'Anthony Melton's potential return yet to be locked down, the Warriors' general manager Mike Dunleavy may be willing to provide an opportunity to a former star shooting guard and 2018 Most Improved Player award winner, Victor Oladipo, as the 33-year-old is reportedly seeking a triumphant NBA comeback. "The two-time All-Star, 33, was part of a well-attended private workout in Las Vegas on Monday morning, with a large contingent of NBA and European teams attending," ESPN's Jeremy Woo wrote Tuesday. "Oladipo played full-court five-on-five in a group workout of international pros.""Multiple team sources in attendance came away impressed, with Oladipo described as being in excellent shape as he pursues another comeback." As he prepares for what would be his 11th NBA campaign, the former 2-time All-Star and ex-Indiana Pacers guard could plausibly act as a valuable backcourt partner for 4-time NBA champion Stephen Curry in certain packages. Oladipo earned an All-Defensive First Team nod in 2018 after averaging a league-high 2.4 steals, but a horrific ruptured right quad tendon sidelined the 6-foot-3 leaper for the majority of the 2018-19 season and began a vicious cycle of injuries over the next few years. The 2018 All-NBA Third Team selection and former DPOY candidate hasn't suited up for an NBA game since 2022-23, but these recent updates have begun to convince the NBA sphere that he's ready for a return. If Dunleavy continues to strike out on more free agent guards, Oladipo would surely accept the chance to impact winning alongside Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler in a heartbeat. At his peak in 2017-18, Oladipo contributed 23.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists on a 57.7% effective field goal percentage and gained notoriety as one of the best perimeter defenders in the entire league. Former Indiana Pacers Star 'Impressed' During Workout

Former Indiana Pacers Star 'Impressed' During Workout originally appeared on Athlon Sports. After Paul George left and before Tyrese Haliburton arrived, the Indiana Pacers boasted one of the NBA's forgotten stars. During his three-and-a-half-season stint with the Pacers, Victor Oladipo averaged 20.6 points per game and was one of the very best two-way guards in the NBA, although leg injuries derailed his career, and he last played in 2023, at only 30 years old. Oladipo is eyeing an NBA return, and with the Pacers poised to take a step back without Tyrese Haliburton, there is reason to believe that Indiana would be a good fit for Oladipo to find his footing and re-establish himself as a viable NBA player. He has already made waves as a possible free agent addition, and the Pacers aren't the only team that may have some interest. "The two-time All-Star, 33, was part of a well-attended private workout in Las Vegas on Monday morning, with a large contingent of NBA and European teams attending," wrote ESPN's Jeremy Woo. "Oladipo played full-court five-on-five in a group workout of international pros. Multiple team sources in attendance came away impressed, with Oladipo described as being in excellent shape as he pursues another comeback." As a veteran seemingly willing to play a lesser role just to get back into the NBA, plenty of contenders might show interest in Oladipo as a free agent pickup. The Pacers, while a sentimental landing spot, might have to contend with teams like the Lakers, Rockets, and Knicks, teams who could use a backcourt depth piece and have very real title hopes.
