Oakdale girl dies in UTV crash, second child fatality within week in Central Louisiana

An Oakdale teen girl was killed early Sunday in a utility-terrain vehicle crash, according to Louisiana State Police. The wreck happened just after midnight on West River Road, south of La. It hit a parked Honda Foreman UTV, which caused her, a juvenile passenger and the driver of the Foreman to be ejected, it reads. Vidrine was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The other two suffered minor injuries. Toxicology samples were taken from both drivers, but results are pending. The crash, the second fatal offroad vehicle wreck involving juvenile drivers within a week in Central Louisiana, remains under investigation. A 6-year-old passenger on an all-terrain vehicle was killed Wednesday in Alexandria when the 12-year-old driver ran a stop sign and hit a car at the intersection of Culpepper Road and North Boulevard. The wreck left the driver and a 10-year-old passenger in critical condition, while a 4-year-old passenger received minor injuries. EVANGELINE, La. () — Two men were arrested after a traffic stop in Evangeline Parish after police allegedly found around 3.4 grams of meth as well as pills in their possession. Officials said Chad Wayne Greer, 51, and Pierre Vidrine II, 28, were arrested after a traffic stop on US 167 on Feb. 19, during a pat search, when they found a plastic baggie containing 3 grams of Methamphetamine and three yellow round pills identified as Amphetamine Dextroamphetamine on Greer's person as well as .4 grams of Methamphetamines on Vidrine. Officials said Vidrine also maintained an outstanding felony warrant through . Officials said Greer was charged with one count of possession of methamphetamines and one count of possession of amphetamines. Vidrine was charged with one count of possession of methamphetamines.
