Supermarket giant selling viral ‘angel hair' chocolate – but some shoppers are disgusted

A MAJOR supermarket is selling viral "angel hair" chocolate, but some shoppers are disgusted by the new treat. The Viele Angel Hair Strawberry Flavour Chocolate is now available at Morrisons, and the unusual looking snack is dividing customers. 2 2 The pink Turkish chocolate bar is filled with pistachio cream and green cotton candy, with the inside resembling human hair. Morrisons posted a video of the new product to its Instagram page this week, writing: "The viral Angel Hair chocolate bar has officially landed in stores... have you tried it yet?" But many customers appeared to be revolted by the sweet treat, with one responding: "Eww are you meant to eat that?" Another said it looked "vile", while one shopper asked: "Is that supposed to be edible? It looks awful?" Some shoppers even questioned whether the retailer's post was a late April Fools Day joke. "Is that a real item or is that a really late April fools? Genuinely concerned here," one said. The 100g chocolate bar is on sale for £5 in the supermarket, and is available both online and in stores. The 'hairy' chocolate has been compared to the Dubai-style chocolate, which has been viral over the past few moths and contains layers of rich pistachio cream and crunchy kadayif pastry encased in smooth milk chocolate. I was so excited when I nabbed a £2.49 Morrisons Too Good To Go bag – but what I found inside made me feel sick Replying to Morrisons' Instagram post, one shopper wrote: "Not sure about this one! Dubai chocolate filling is much more appetising." Like the Dubai chocolate, the 'angel hair' pink chocolate has recently gone viral on TikTok, with many users sharing videos of themselves trying it and giving their verdict. And while Morrisons shoppers might not be convinced, there are many fans raving about it online. One fan, Carmie Sellitto, known as @ touchdalight on TikTok, posted a video reviewing another version of the "angel hair" chocolate by Tucho Bar, describing the taste as 'incredible.' He told his 1 million followers: "I've never tried anything like this chocolate before", adding that it was "the best chocolate I've ever had in my life." Other chocolate news Godiva has started selling its own version of the pistachio bar in Tesco stores as the brand makes a return to supermarket shelves after five years. However, the FSA last week issued a warning over Dubai-style products over a concern for customer health. The watchdog said that imported products may not be intended for sale within the UK and might not comply with UK labelling laws, meaning allergens might not be accurately labelled. Some products, meanwhile, may contain additives and colours which are banned in the UK market. Cadbury has been busy too. The Sun recently revealed that the chocolatier was launching a new Dairy Milk Iced Latte bar this summer. Fans were thrilled to spot a long-discontinued chocolate bar for sale at B&M for a reduced price. The chocolate block was spotted by a fan when shopping at the discount retail store.
