LTO places alarm on SUV in Commonwealth Avenue hit-and-run
LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said that the agency had issued a show-cause order against the owner of the SUV. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) said on Tuesday that it has placed under alarm an SUV after its driver abandoned a motorcycle rider who was injured following a collision along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City last July 11. LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said that the agency had issued a show-cause order against the owner of the SUV. 'We already identified the registered owner of the Land Cruiser and we already issued a show cause order. The LTO said that it will immediately suspend the license of the SUV driver once identified. The agency said that the SUV sped off after hitting the motorcycle, while bystanders and motorists brought the motorcycle rider to the nearest hospital. Citing the show cause order, the LTO said the SUV driver and owner are directed to appear before its Intelligence and Investigation Division on August 7. The SCO also directed the owner and the driver to explain in writing why they should not be held liable for reckless driving, Duty of Driver in case of Accident and why the driver's license should not be suspended or revoked for being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle. –Vince Angelo Ferreras/NB, GMA Integrated News
