BJP big guns rally behind Jiwan Gupta with roadshow

1 2 Ludhiana: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organised the Vijay Sankalp Yatra on Monday as a final push to pitch its candidate, Jiwan Gupta. Former Union minister and MP for Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, Anurag Thakur , party president Sunil Jakhar, and Union minister of state Ravneet Singh Bittu led the roadshow. Party workers holding flags and placards of PM Modi and Anurag Thakur walked ahead of the vehicle in which the senior leaders travelled, waving at supporters. The saffron party also organised a roadshow in Ghumar Mandi, from where the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) had passed a few moments before. For commuters, this was a double whammy as the second rally started soon after the first. As for party workers, the change of weather made it easier for them to march on the bustling Ghumar Mandi road. General secretary of the state organisation, Manthri Srinivasulu, walked alongside the workers, who danced to the beat of the dhol. Jiwan Gupta and Anurag Thakur received a warm welcome from workers and people in Ghumar Mandi. The former Union minister started his address calling out, "Jo bole so Nihaal," to the enthusiastic response of people, who roared, "Sat Sri Akal."
