Girls shine in Nagaland board exams

Dimapur: Girls topped the merit list in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) 2025 and also in the three streams of Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examination 2025 conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education. The results were declared on Friday. Lungyihangle Nring of St. Paul Hr. Sec. School Dimapur topped the HSLC Examination with 98.67%. In the HSSLC Examination, Vikhono Senotsu of Government Higher Secondary School Jotsoma topped the arts stream with 96.20%, Arti Kumari of Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School Dimapur topped in commerce stream with 94.60% and Snigtha Mukherjee of St John Higher Secondary Residential School Dimapur topped the science stream with 93.40%. In the HSLC examination, 48.41% of students from government schools and 87.64% from private schools qualified. Among repeater students, 14.59% qualified. In the HSSLC examination, the pass percentage in arts stream was 84.05%, commerce 81.40% and science 76.54%.

The overall pass percentage for NBSE HSSLC exams 2025 is 82.44%, and for HSLC class 10 is 75.16%. In class 12, girls outperformed boys. The pass percentage among girls is 85.98% and among boys, it is 78.17%. Lungyihangle Nring has secured the top position in the NBSE Class 10 board exams 2025 with a score of 98.6 per cent, Moasanen Pongener and Lokemi Achumi secured the second and third ranks, respectively. While Vikhono Senotsu secured rank 1 in Class 12 board exams with 96.20 per cent. Zuluienla T Jamir and Wanyau Phom grabbed the second and third spots, respectively. This year, the class 12 exam was conducted on February 11 to March 7. While the class 10 exams were conducted between February 12 and 24, 2025. The Centre Superintendents are required to collect the mark sheets and pass certificates of their students and other categories between May 2 and 6, 2025. 'Original Pass Certificates are issued to successful candidates along with Marksheets. As such, provisional Pass Certificates need not be issued by the institutions. Further, institutions who admit students may not insist on provisional Pass Certificates," reads the official notice. Candidates can apply for re-scrutiny online at within 15 days after the publication of the result, that is, on or before May 10, 2025. Students applying need to pay the prescribed fee of Rs 500 per. The rescrutiny results will be declared within 40 days after the declaration of this result. The Compartmental and Improvement Examinations will be conducted in June 2025. A candidate failing in four or less subjects is eligible to sit for the test. Candidates have to apply online through the NBSE portal from May 12 to 17. The fees is Rs 650 per subject for class 12 and Rs 600 for class 10.

The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has announced the results for the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) 2025 examinations today. A total of 16,649 students appeared for the exams across the Arts, Commerce, and Science streams. Of the total candidates, 13,725 have cleared the exams, bringing the overall pass percentage to 82.44%. Continuing the trend from previous years, girls have outperformed boys, with a pass rate of 85.98%, significantly ahead of the 78.17% recorded by their male counterparts. Nagaland NBSE HSSLC 2025 results: Stream-wise toppers In the Arts stream, which saw the largest number of examinees (12,404), 84.05% cleared the exam. Vikhono Senotsu of Government Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma, topped the stream with 481 marks (96.20%). In Commerce, Arti Kumari from Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, led with 473 marks (94.60%), helping the stream achieve an overall pass rate of 81.40%. The Science stream, despite being the toughest, saw 76.54% students succeed, with Snigdha Mukherjee from St. John Hr. Sec. Residential School, Dimapur, securing the top spot with 467 marks (93.40%). NBSE HSSLC 2025 results: What to do next The provision for rescrutiny applications is open until May 10, 2025, at a fee of INR 500 per subject. Students seeking to improve their marks or those with up to four failed subjects can apply for the Improvement or Compartmental Exams, respectively, between May 12 and 17, 2025. Both exams will be held in June 2025. Mark sheets and pass certificates will be available at respective institutions from May 2 onwards.
