IIT-Patna conclave discusses rural transformation
Patna: Policymakers, technologists, domain experts and grassroots change-makers deliberated on innovative and sustainable solutions for rural development at a national conclave, aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047, hosted by Foundation for Innovators in Science and Technology (Fist) at IIT-Patna on Thursday.
Inaugurating the conclave, IIT-P director T N Singh expressed his appreciation for the multidisciplinary approach of the conclave and reaffirmed the institution's commitment to research and innovation geared toward rural transformation. He called upon the stakeholders to work hard to ensure the complete transformation of rural India with a view to making the country developed.
Introducing the central theme of the conclave, Fist's chief executive officer Praveen Kumar underscored the critical need for technological innovations in addressing the industrial challenges in rural sectors.
He highlighted ongoing initiatives at Fist that bridge the gap between research findings and their on-ground application, particularly through entrepreneurship and technology incubation.
The chairman of the Viksit Bharat Project - Mission 2047 presented an overview of its objectives and emphasised the shared responsibilities of the govt, academia, startups and civil society in transforming India's villages into engines of inclusive growth and innovation.
Prominent among those who participated in the deliberations were HSPC director Afsar Imam, Gujarat-based TS University's Jeena Madan, Hostage India's Chairman Sandeep Gupta and ILCS' general manager Prem Sharma.
