Vision document is like poll manifesto, another way to mislead public: SP
Lucknow: Leader of Opposition in UP Legislative Council Lal Bihari Yadav on Wednesday said the vision document presented by the BJP govt is another effort to mislead people. "It is another effort to mislead people. It is like an election manifesto, a sankalp patra. How the govt that has not fulfilled promises made in its election manifesto can have a vision or an objective," he said during the discussion on 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Uttar Pradesh '. The promise that they made in their first 'sankalp patra' of bringing back the black money deposited in foreign banks and giving Rs 15 lakh to every person in the country has not been fulfilled, he said. "Govt has not spoken even a word on this in parliament. It is 11 years for the BJP govt in the Centre and 8 in UP," he said. Yadav said instead of creating 2 crore jobs, as promised in their second sankalp patra, they are cutting down on jobs. "Outsourcing done by them has decreased the per capita income," he alleged. The SP MLC said the govt talked about doubling the income of farmers, but where are the farmers finding urea in the market? The income of farmers can be increased by reducing the input cost for agriculture, but that is not happening, he said. He further criticised the govt for not giving free electricity to farmers as was promised or implementing the MSP for paddy. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas Prices In Dubai Might Be More Affordable Than You Think Villas In Dubai | Search Ads Get Quote Undo "The govt had also promised that within 90 days of coming to power, it will start the process to fill all vacant posts in a transparent manner, which has not been done it till now," said Yadav. The govt is neither giving reservation to backwards nor to SCs. In the matter concerning the recruitment of 69,000 teachers, around 5,893 posts meant for the backward class and 3,000 SC seats were filled with general category people. This was mentioned in the report of the National Backward Commission. This is an expose in only one job, said the opposition leader. He said education sector was in a bad state in UP as NCERT books were unavailable to students. Later, SP members walked out after Yadav said he was not given enough time to speak in the House. ‘GSDP growth, rise in per capita income shows UP on development track'
1 2 Lucknow: During the discussion on 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Uttar Pradesh' in the UP Legislative Council on Wednesday, minister of state for excise (independent charge) Nitin Agarwal said that the pace of GSDP growth, and rise in the per capita income of the people, are indicators of the development of the state. Uttar Pradesh saw its GSDP grow by 2.5 times from 2016-17, when it was 13 lakh 30 thousand crore, to over 29 lakh 78 thousand crore in 2024-25. It is estimated to be around 35 lakh crore by the end of this financial year, said the minister. Similarly, the per capita income for UP in 2016-17 was Rs 54,564 and now it has almost doubled to more than Rs 1.8 lakh in 2024-25, he said, adding that it shows the resources were used well in the state to improve the basic infrastructural facilities. He said that industrialisation is another factor to measure development and the investors' summit played a role in promoting the same. During the summit, proposals worth Rs 45 lakh crore were received, out of which proposals worth over Rs 15 lakh crore are on the ground. It had a positive impact on the excise department, he said, adding that in 2016-17, there were 61 distilleries, which increased to 96 in 2024-25. The state had only five breweries in 2016-17, but in 2024-25, there are seven of them functional and four in the pipeline. The state did not have any winery earlier; now licenses have been issued for six, and four of them have started production. UP lagged because of rampant corruption: Dy CM Maurya
1 2 Lucknow: Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya on Wednesday said the discussion under 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Uttar Pradesh' is about how to make UP developed by 2047 and why it lagged despite being so resource-abundant state. "The upper house today needs to discuss why UP lags in development compared to Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and many more states despite having the maximum population, enough talent, hard working people and natural resources in abundance. Who should we blame for this?" he said while speaking in UP Legislative Council. He said many countries that got independence in 1947, like India, are developed countries today, giving their citizens all the facilities that a developed country would and should give. He cited examples of France, which became independent in 1962, Israel, which got independence in 1948, and New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, and Australia, which got independence in 1947, 1965, 1945 and 1986 respectively. Maurya added that while the biggest reason for this was corruption Congress was "bhrashtachaar ki amma" (mother of corruption). "Only if the corruption-free India and corruption-free UP resolution was adopted after independence, India would be a developed country by now," he said adding that "Jan Dhan bank accounts and schemes like DBT are the ways of development." He hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the most popular and visionary leader in the world and said he is the only leader to have received the highest award of 27 countries. He also said UP CM Yogi Adityanath is the longest-serving CM in the history of UP. "I would like to mention that 14 lakhpati didis from UP have been invited by the PM for the Independence Day celebration, which is a big thing," said Maurya.
