Suspects assaulted, injured victim; then took jacket, bike: Davenport Police

An injured victim was transported to a hospital after two suspects took his bicycle and jacket, Davenport Police say in Scott County Court documents. Now 37-year-old Vincent Williams, of Davenport, faces felony charges of second-degree robbery and willful injury – causing bodily injury, according to Scott County arrest affidavits. Shortly before 3 p.m. Friday, Davenport Police officers responded to the area of Main and West 4th streets for a report of a robbery and assault, affidavits show. The victim told officers after two suspects began assaulting him, he fell to the ground and they continued to assault him, police say in affidavits. The suspects stole his bicycle and red-and-blue jacket. The victim described one of the two suspects as a man wearing a blue coat, and said that this suspect stole his jacket after assaulting him and threatening to kill him. Williams was found in the area in possession of the described jacket, and he matched the victim's description, affidavits show. He was taken into custody by officers. An eyewitness identified Williams as one of the suspects. Affidavits say the victim – who suffered a deep wound on his left eyebrow and another on his ear – was transported by ambulance to MercyOne Genesis Medical Center – East Campus. In affidavits, police say Williams committed an act against the victim, with the intent to cause serious injury while causing bodily injury. Williams was being held Saturday afternoon on a $10,000 cash-only bond in Scott County Jail. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
