Indian Embassy Open House highlights community support, repatriation efforts
TDT | Manama The Embassy of India organized an Open House yesterday, chaired by Ambassador HE Mr. Vinod Kurian Jacob. The Embassy's consular team and panel of lawyers were also present. More than 30 Indian nationals participated in the Open House, which was conducted in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. The event began with a moment of silence in remembrance of the Pahalgam terror attack. Thereafter, the gathering was briefed on the cases raised during the previous Open House. An Indian national who had been stranded in Bahrain for an extended period was repatriated with the Embassy's assistance. An Emergency Certificate was issued, and an air ticket was provided through the Indian Community Welfare Fund. In another case, a woman who participated in an Open House received an Emergency Certificate, and her outstanding school fees were settled with the intervention of the Embassy. The Ambassador expressed his appreciation to the school principal and Malabar Gold & Diamonds for their support in clearing the dues. The Embassy also issued an air ticket through the Indian Community Welfare Fund to a cancer patient traveling to India for further treatment. In April, Embassy officials visited the Ladies' Prison and Jau Prison to meet inmates in person. Support kits were distributed to the inmates of the Ladies' Prison through the Indian Community Welfare |Fund. The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Bahraini authorities, including the Ministry of Labour, LMRA, and Immigration authorities, for their swift assistance in consular and community welfare matters. He also thanked the Embassy's panel of lawyers for their consistent participation and support in reviewing the cases presented, and appreciated the commitment of Indian community organizations and volunteers in helping distressed members of the Indian diaspora throughout the year.

Foreign Minister Attends Indian Embassy's Republic Day Celebration
Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the reception hosted by His Excellency Vinod Kurian Jacob, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, to mark the 76th anniversary of India's Republic Day. The event, held today, was attended by several dignitaries, including ministers, members of the Shura and Representatives Councils, senior officials, and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Bahrain. On this occasion, Dr. Al Zayani delivered a speech extending Bahrain's congratulations to India on its 76th Republic Day. He highlighted the significance of the day, which reflects India's core values of a robust democracy, unique cultural diversity, and strong national unity, emphasizing the Indian people's resilience and creativity. Dr. Al Zayani underscored the deep-rooted ties between Bahrain and India, noting their centuries-old foundation of mutual respect and productive cooperation. He pointed out the wide-ranging collaboration between the two nations, spanning trade and culture to the fostering of strong interpersonal connections, which mirror the profound human bonds uniting the two countries. He reiterated Bahrain's commitment to further strengthening this enduring relationship. Ambassador Vinod Kurian Jacob, in his remarks, expressed gratitude for the close bilateral ties between India and Bahrain. He highlighted the remarkable progress achieved in the past year, including economic collaboration, which saw bilateral trade reach $1.72 billion, and high-level exchanges in cultural and military domains. The ambassador reaffirmed India's commitment to deepening its partnership with Bahrain in ways that serve the mutual interests of both nations and their peoples. The event celebrated the strong and enduring friendship between Bahrain and India, reaffirming their shared commitment to furthering cooperation in various fields.
