Watch: Carlo Ancelotti & Vinícius Jr. reunited in Brazil
Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. was on Thursday reunited with recently-departed manager Carlo Ancelotti in the former's home country of Brazil. This, of course, comes as Ancelotti's adventure as new Brazilian national team head coach gets underway. Amid the widespread knowledge that his time in La Liga was coming to an imminent close, the Italian was earlier this month unveiled as the man to lead Brazil's charge towards the 2026 World Cup. After Real Madrid played out the final fixture of what proved to be a disappointing 2024/25 campaign last weekend, Ancelotti, in turn, wasted little time in making the journey to South America. The tactician has since unveiled his maiden Seleção squad, with the aforementioned Vinícius Jr. featuring front and centre. And as alluded to above, on Thursday, the pair crossed paths once more. Watch: Barcelona fan's viral dig at Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. during El Clásico
A member of the home crowd in attendance at Barcelona's La Liga showdown with Real Madrid this past weekend managed to secure for himself viral status online. This came by way of a gesture aimed at Blancos wide-man Vinícius Jr. Advertisement The latest edition of El Clásico was of course played to completion this past Sunday, with Barcelona having ultimately triumped by four goals to three. En route to as much, Vinícius Jr. featured from the off, before being hooked late in the action in Catalunya owing to an ankle problem. And it was upon his return to the bench that the Brazilian was subjected to a less than subtle dig by way of a Barcelona supporter. The fan in question was spotted on camera gaining Vinícius' attention whilst holding up a beach ball. This came as a jibe towards the Brazilian, in the form of a reminder of his controversial snub at last year's Ballon d'Or ceremony. The documentary is set to premiere on May 15 and promises an intimate look into the life and career of the Real Madrid superstar, who has had to endure a lot since coming to Spain. Advertisement The documentary follows Vinícius's journey from humble beginnings in Sao Goncalo, Brazil, to the grand stage of the Santiago Bernabeu. Netflix has already released a teaser across its social media platforms, which gives a glimpse of the player's journey throughout his career. The documentary also delves into the harsh realities the player has faced off the pitch — most notably, the racist abuse he suffered in several stadiums, including the widely condemned incident in Valencia. The film features interviews with football icons and teammates including Neymar, Jude Bellingham, Toni Kroos, Roberto Carlos, and Karim Benzema — all sharing their perspectives on the Brazilian winger's influence on and off the pitch. Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. was tonight on the receiving end of racial abuse on the part of sections of Atlético supporters. The latest edition of the Madrid Derby is of course currently being contested. In the 2nd leg of a Champions League Last-16 tie between the city rivals, Diego Simeone's Atlético have welcomed Real to the Wanda Metropolitano for a highly-anticipated clash. And, as things stand, it is the evening's hosts who boast the advantage, owing to a Conor Gallagher strike inside the opening 60 seconds. As alluded to above, though, ahead of kick-off in the derby, it was matters away from the pitch which grabbed the headlines. And, unfortunately, for all the wrong reasons. This comes after Real Madrid standout Vinícius Jr. was the target of digusting racist abuse from a group of Atlético fans. The individuals in question, as showcased in the footage below, came together outside the Metropolitano to belt out chants of: 'Ale, ale, ale, Vinicius chimpanzee!'
