All Creatures Great and Small star Anna Madeley, who plays Mrs Hall in the Channel 5 drama, has had an impressive career

All Creatures Great and Small continues to be a Channel 5 hit, with James Herriot (Nicholas Ralph) once again at Skeldale House alongside his love interest Helen (Rachel Shenton). The formidable Mrs Hall, portrayed by Anna Madeley, continues overseeing the veterinary surgery.
Anna Madeley, whom audiences might remember from Deadwater Fell, The Royal, and Consent, began her acting career on television but has also earned acclaim for her work with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Though she wasn't raised in a theatrical household - both her parents were scientists - Madeley has always felt their steadfast encouragement. She's familiar with rolling up her sleeves, having told Virgin Islands Daily News: "I've worked in a pub. I worked for a very popular video shop chain, no longer existing. I did market research, worked at Harrods for a few days selling perfume."

Away from the cameras, Anna is a dedicated mum to two children and is in a relationship with fellow performer Geoffrey Streatfeild, recognised for his roles in The Other Boleyn Girl and Kinky Boots.
The All Creatures star has openly admitted that collaborating with her partner doesn't always run smoothly, observing: "It's one of those things: You either have someone who really understands your industry and gets it - but then you've got the double whammy of those insecurities."
The 48-year-old London-born actress offered her perspective on the challenges of juggling an acting career with maintaining a stable family life, observing: "It can be quite hard if one of you has a permanent, regular job in a particular place, and one of you needs to be able to come and go and do different things. I think it's hard whichever way 'round."

Balancing professional commitments with child-rearing proved to be a learning experience for her, emphasising the significance of finding harmony between work and personal responsibilities.
She discussed the unpredictable nature of an actor's timetable, which faces constant disruption as they immerse themselves in fresh characters, memorise their dialogue, and adapt to varying work schedules.
Transitioning into motherhood certainly demanded adaptation from such a fast-paced lifestyle.
Many may be unaware that pursuing her parents' scholarly footsteps was initially her selected path, having earned a doctorate in neuroscience.

Taking time away from acting at 19, she focused on academic studies and became mother to two sons; afterwards, she dedicated approximately five years to teaching neuroscience before returning to her acting ambitions.
Geoffrey, her present partner, ended his former marriage to Nikki Amuka-Bird in 2010 before beginning afresh with the actress recognised for her performance in All Creatures.
