How Jason Isaacs Misjudged Patrick Schwarzenegger

It's no secret that there's a bit of a negative implication that comes with being a nepo baby in Hollywood. And so, when Jason Isaacs found out that he'd be working with Patrick Schwarzenegger on The White Lotus, he was a little apprehensive. If the last name wasn't enough of a giveaway, Patrick is the eldest son of Hollywood icon-turned-politician and businessperson Arnold Schwarzenegger and journalist, author, and Kennedy family member, Maria Shriver. On Season 3 of The White Lotus, Jason played the wealthy but troubled patriarch of the Ratliff family, Timothy, and Patrick played Saxon, the eldest of his three children. During a recent appearance on the Table Manners podcast, Jason revealed that he and his onscreen kids from the series got pretty close over the course of the seven months they spent shooting in Thailand. 'You know who I charmed up with? It's my kids. Patrick, Sam [Nivola], Sarah Catherine [Hook], became like my kids, you know, by proxy, and I fell madly in love with them,' he said when asked about who he was closest to in the cast. After revealing that he and his White Lotus kids still 'text each other all the time,' Jason admitted he misjudged Patrick before they bonded. 'I didn't expect Patrick to be nice because he's the son of a famous movie star,' he said, 'and he's such a fabulous, grounded person.' Funnily enough, I don't think Jason was the only person to be pleasantly surprised by Patrick. When The White Lotus Season 3 first premiered in February, the 31-year-old copped some criticism for his questionable comments on nepotism during an interview with the Sunday Times. However, within just a few weeks, he'd won himself a new legion of fans and was hailed as one of the standout performers on the series. Notably, Jason was one of the people to publicly defend Patrick amid all the nepotism backlash, calling him 'one of the nicest, most grounded, humble, lovely people' he'd ever met. 'He knows exactly who his dad is, and he loves him for what he is,' he said during a Virgin Radio interview in March. 'But he knows who he is, he's not blinded to his faults as well. He's just a really wonderful young man.' What a sweet duo! You can find Jason's full Table Manners episode here.

‘Miracle' sleep hack loved by Erling Haaland and Gwyneth Paltrow poses ‘serious health harm', scientists warn

A POPULAR sleep trend that's taken social media by storm and loved by celebs "could suffocate and kill you", scientists warn. Mouth taping is an increasingly popular home treatment used to encourage nose breathing during sleep. 3 Manchester City's Erling Haaland shared he used mouth tape as part of his sleep and training routine Credit: Getty 3 Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has said mouth taping promotes good quality sleep Credit: Getty It's claimed the practice can help a number of issues from snoring to bad breath. And a whole bunch of celebs can't get enough of it. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland includes mouth taping as part of his sleep and training routine. In a chat with Logan Paul on the 'Impaulsive' podcast, he explained: "I think sleep is the most important thing in the world. You should try and tape your mouth shut close at night." Actress Gwyneth Paltrow, known for her unique approach to health and wellness, has also jumped on the mouth taping band wagon. In November 2022, she took to her Instagram to recommend the mouth taping brand she uses, saying: "This is probably the single best wellness tool I have found recently. Breathing through your nose at night apparently creates alkalinity in the body and promotes best quality sleep." Model Ashley Graham, US talk show host Jimmy Fallon, and Virgin Radio host Chris Evans are also fans of the sleep hack. But an evaluation of 10 previously published studies suggests the recent fad may have little benefit and could pose serious asphyxiation risks. As the safety and effectiveness of nighttime mouth taping has actually been unclear up until this point, Dr Brian Rotenberg of Western University in London, Ontario, Canada and colleagues at St Joseph's Health Care London and London Health Sciences Centre Research Institute reviewed studies that have explored the practice. Their analysis included 10 studies that employed different research methods to evaluate the potential benefits of sealing the mouth shut - using tape or other devices, such as chin straps - for a total of 213 patients. I want to freeze ageing at 27 but trolls ask who'd go to bed with me Out of the 10 studies, two suggested mouth taping may be associated with a slight improvement in apnea-hyopopnea index - a measure of sleep apnoea severity. But other studies found no evidence mouth taping might help treat mouth breathing, sleep-disordered breathing, or sleep apnoea. Four of the 10 studies discussed the potential serious risk of asphyxiation posed by sealing the mouth shut during sleep, particularly for those with serious restriction or blockage of nasal airways. Serious nasal obstruction could result from conditions such as hay fever, chronic rhinitis, deviated septum, sinonasal disease, or englarged tonsils. The authors concluded existing evidence doesn't support nighttime mouth taping as a treatment for sleep-disordered breathing, including obstructive sleep apnoea. But they did note further research is needed. 3 But scientists have warned of a potential risk of asphyxiation from the sleep hack Credit: Getty They wrote: "Mouth taping is a contemporary practice that is often celebrity-endorsed, but is not necessarily scientifically accurate. "Many people are not appropriate for mouth taping, and in some cases it can lead to risk of serious health harm.' Alternatives to mouth taping for encouraging nasal breathing during sleep include nasal strips, decongestants, saline flushes, and CPAP machines. But consulting your GP about encouraging nasal breathing is wise.

Kate Lawler 'in trouble' after taking action over neighbour's bright blue shed

Kate Lawler has admitted she's in her neighbour's bad books after an angry altercation involving their shed. The Big Brother star, 45, took to Instagram to ask her followers for advice as she revealed she'd painted the back of the "garish blue" shed - which she says only she can see - black. Revealing that her neighbour had "gone mad" after the reality star's handywork, Kate said: "Why do I always get myself in these situations? I'm in trouble with my neighbour for painting the back of their bright blue, garish, shed a different colour. Won't be doing it again as in hindsight I know I should have asked first, but I didn't think it would be a big deal given that they can't see it?" Asking if she was actually an "a******e" who "needed to buy flowers", she conceded: "It has made me wonder though… Would you be annoyed if you discovered the back of your shed (which you couldn't see) had been painted by the neighbour whose garden backed on to yours? "Have you had a similar fall out with your neighbour? Basically, am I a******e and should I buy them flowers and a box of milk tray to apologise?" Responding to her post, This Morning presenter, Lisa Snowdon, replied: "Oops" with a see-no-evil emoji. Meanwhile, another of Kate's followers said: "Honestly .. you should have asked and she should have said yes" as another teased: "Id love it! ..you're the famous Kate Lawler! That's like having a Banksy on your shed." Kate made history when she became the first woman to win the third series of Big Brother back in 2002. Known for her no-nonsense attitude, in-house antics and close friendships with housemates like Alison Hammond, Kate went on to become a household name, as a regular face on our TV screens and radio presenter for the likes of Virgin Radio and Capital. Reflecting on how the game has changed now that the world is awash with social media, she told the Mirror: 'I could not be happier that I did that show before social media. I think I would have been cancelled!' The mum-of-one, who shares five-year-old daughter Noa with her husband of almost three years, Martin Bojtos, says she's mellowed a lot since her wild party days in the Big Brother house. She explained: ' When I was in my twenties, I partied hard. But then, in my thirties, I became a dog parent. I started to settle down and do more wholesome things at the weekend.' Still, Kate looks back on her Big Brother journey fondly, explaining: 'I'm so pleased I did it when I did.' While she's moved on from the unfiltered chaos of reality TV - and having her every move caught on camera - Kate is candid when it comes to sharing her life with her fans on social media. From opening up about her battle with postnatal depression to the highs and lows of parenting, she is passionate about showing the full picture. She told us: 'When I first had Noa, I felt like nobody was really being honest on social media about how the first year of parenting is. 'How it's possible that you can love your child with every fibre of your being, but also find it really mundane and hard. It's life-changing.'
