‘Vision Document' a ‘lollypop' to people for next 22 years: Shivpal

Lucknow: SP MLA Shivpal Yadav termed the state govt's proposed 'Vision Document for 2047' as nothing more than a 'lollypop' to the people for the next 22 years.
Speaking on the floor of the House, Yadav said the state govt was itself saying it would take at least 22 years to make the state developed.
"The discussion should have been held on how the current BJP dispensation failed to deliver on its promises made to the people since 2017," he said.
Shivpal said people were craving for basic amenities, including electricity and water, and farmers faced problems selling their produce and making a decent living.
"The govt was not able to provide a quality road network. The promise of making the state roads free of potholes has fallen flat on its face.
One can see the quality of roads within a 5 km radius of the Vidhan Bhawan," he said.
Earlier, Leader of Opposition in Assembly Mata Prasad Pandey said the opposition intended to expose the "false and tall claims of the state govt".
To this, parliamentary affairs minister Suresh Khanna said the opposition only intended to spread anarchy.
Pandey responded by questioning the state govt as to who was spreading anarchy through false encounters and attacking mausoleums and madrassas.
Congress MLA Aradhana Mishra said a host of districts were facing a spate of floods, but the state govt "did not have a roadmap". Likewise, she said, the state was facing the worst-ever job crisis in the last 45 years, but the state govt had no roadmap.
