Vivo's Vision Pro-Like Headset Confirmed To Launch, Product Design Teased

Vivo is bringing its own mixed reality headset like Vision Pro to the market this month and here's a quick look at the design. Vivo is going to be one of the first phone brands to bring its own Vision Pro-like mixed reality headset to the market. The company has teased its product along with the launch details for the new category and the visuals of the device look really similar to the profile of Apple's headset. Vivo is going to unveil the new product in China next week which will also include an imaging festival, as the teasers have hinted. The visor-like design has encapsulated the market thanks to Vision Pro and it seems more brands are happy to carry the baton. The product teaser from Vivo clearly shows a durable device with metal build quality and the displays sitting under the visor. The company is calling it the Vivo Vision headset and the unveiling is on Thursday, August 21 in China. Vivo even has a crown dial added into the mix that should probably help you control the settings of the headset's transparency through the visor based on the content you are watching. It is likely to have a band that rests on the head to hold the device and let you enjoy the content handsfree. The company is promising a lightweight design which should aid comfort something that the Vision Pro doesn't offer a lot. But the brand has clearly noted Apple's formula for its headset and will have three-dimensional controls along with gesture support mostly tipped. However, Vivo might be following Apple's trick in some of the not-so-appealing aspects well. The headset is unlikely to come at a mass market pricing, and like Apple, the company is expected to focus on making it an experiential product in China and giving people the chance to reserve and test it (for a blocking charge) before paying the full sum. We are eager to see if Vivo can fix the ailing battery issues of this form factor and also deliver a premium OS experience that can make or break this platform. Do we expect this headset to launch in markets like India, that is quite unlikely at this stage and Vivo would probably look at more accessible AR smart glasses for other regions in the near future. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
