Toll-free helpline launched for bonded labourers
Labour Minister Vivek Venkataswamy announced that the State government will prioritise survivors of bonded labour in the allocation of Indiraamma houses and provide financial assistance. To facilitate reporting of bonded labour cases, the Minister launched a toll-free helpline number, 8069434343, at a conference on bonded labour held on Wednesday. He also announced that the State government would organise programmes on National Bonded Labour Abolition Day, February 9, to raise awareness about the issue and work towards making Telangana a bonded labour-free State. Over 200 bonded labourers attended the conference, where actress and Blue Cross founder Amala Akkineni pledged her support to them. Additional Commissioner of Labour, Gangadhar, assured that strict action would be taken against traders and brokers involved in bonded labour.

Telangana Government to Provide Indiramma Houses: Minister Vivek Venkataswamy
State Labour Minister Vivek Venkataswamy announced that all eligible poor families will be provided with Indiramma houses. He urged district collectors to ensure that these houses reach every deserving individual. The minister made these remarks during his visit to Narsapur in Medak district on Thursday, July 17. During the event, Minister Vivek distributed Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak benefits, and ration cards to beneficiaries. He emphasized that Indiramma houses must be constructed according to government-approved designs and regulations. He further stated that free bus services are being provided for all women in the state, highlighting the government's commitment to empowering women. The government is also offering interest-free loans to women's self-help groups, with an appeal to repay the loans promptly. Minister Vivek emphasized that financially independent women can support their families more effectively. He also mentioned that many underprivileged families are benefiting from the CM Relief Fund. Additionally, he said the state government has prioritized improvements in the education sector

Ponnam lays foundation stones for devpt projects in Jubilee Hills
Hyderabad: BC Welfare and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar criticized the previous government for the lack of development of slums and colonies in the city over the past decade. The Minister pointed out that only the constituencies of those connected to the previous government saw progress, highlighting a pattern of discrimination in their actions. On Friday, he along with minister Vivek Venkataswamy and Thummala Nageswara Rao, Hyderabad City Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi and Hyderabad Collector Harichandana laid the foundation stone for various developmental projects in Jubilee Hills constituency. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that the foundation stone for several development works was laid in the Jubilee Hills constituency, backed by over Rs 5 crore in funding. He emphasized that the Jubilee Hills constituency will progress across all sectors. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the public administration is effectively addressing and resolving all issues. Ponnam stated that they are addressing the issues of drinking water, roads, and drainage system in Hyderabad effectively, while also devising special strategies to enhance job opportunities for the city's youth. He encouraged the residents to raise any public concerns they may have with local officials, public representatives, or ministers. On this occasion, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of CC roads at Harijan Basti, along with the Sports Park under the flyover at a cost of Rs 315.90 lakh in Shaikpet, CC roads at a cost of Rs 100.5 lakh at Gurudwara Kaman in Vengal Rao Nagar and CC roads next to Kamalapuri Association Community Hall at a cost of Rs 95.75 lakh in Yousufguda.

An explosion at a pharmaceutical factory near Hyderabad has left at least 12 people dead and dozens more injured. India's pharmaceutical industry is is a major global supplier of generic medicines and vaccines. At least 12 people were killed and dozens more injured following an explosion and fire at a pharmaceutical factory near the southern Indian city of Hyderabad on Monday. Footage broadcast by local news outlets showed the Sigachi Industries factory in the Sangareddy district of Telangana reduced to ruins and plumes of black smoke billowing into the air. Firefighters said they recovered the charred corpses of 10 workers while around 30 others were admitted to hospital, where two later succumbed to burns and were also pronounced dead. Indian Labor Minister Vivek Venkataswamy also confirmed that "several injured people have been hospitalized." "It was an explosion in a spray dryer unit of the factory, which is used to process raw material into fine powder for making drugs," said a fire department spokesman, without specifying what exactly caused the blast. "We are continuing to search the rubble for other bodies." A total of 65 workers were in the factory at the time of the explosion, according to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his anguish over the loss of lives on social media and promised 200,000 Indian rupees ($2,333) in financial support to each next of kin. India is home to some of the world's top pharmaceutical companies which play a major role in the global supply of generic medicines and vaccines. But industrial accidents, particularly involving chemical reactors, are common.
