Make Vizianagaram a plastic-free city, urges Minister
Minister for Home and In-charge of Vizianagaram District Vangalapudi Anitha on Saturday asked people to avoid single use plastic in day-to-day life. The Minister along with MLA Aditi Vijaya Lakshmi, Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan and Municipal Commissioner P. Nallanayya participated in 'Swachh Andhra-Swarna Andhra' rally organised from Clock Tower Junction to Balaji Junction of the Fort City on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that Vizianagaram must be made a plastic-free city within a six months period with the cooperation of people and representatives of service organisations. She felicitated sanitation workers on the occasion and lauded their relentless services to the society. Vizianagaram District Cooperative Marketing Society Chairman Gompa Krishna and other leaders were present.
