Hailey Bieber's iconic reaction to selling Rhode in billion dollar deal
Hours after Hailey Bieber scored a billion-dollar beauty deal, she dropped a TikTok that has everyone talking. Read on to find out how the mega successful beauty mogul celebrated her biggest win yet Hailey Bieber had an iconic reaction after striking a deal to sell her beauty and skincare brand Rhode to e.l.f. Beauty in a transaction that could reach a staggering £740 million ($1billion). Hours after news of the massive deal broke, Hailey posted a TikTok to let people know just how she was celebrating. Captioning the now-viral video clip 'well.. good morning!', Hailey can be seen sporting a strapless little black dress with her hair down and a huge smile as she grooves to rapper JT's track Ran Out and makes little finger claps. The beauty mogul was out having dinner at Alba in West Hollywood to celebrate her win. Her pop star husband, Justin Bieber, was conspicuously absent from the celebrations, as Hailey seemed to have stepped out sans husband (but with her girls) to celebrate the major milestone. Justin did however, post the news of the deal to Instagram, albeit without a caption. The billion dollar move, announced on Wednesday, May 28, is being hailed by Vogue Business as one of the most significant beauty industry acquisitions of late. Announcing the deal, Hailey took to social media and wrote: 'When I launched rhode in 2022, I always had big dreams for the company, and the most important thing to me is to keep bringing rhode to more spaces, places, and faces globally. So today I am so incredibly excited and proud to announce that we are partnering with e.l.f. Beauty as we step into this next chapter in the world of rhode. "I found a like-minded disruptor with a vision to be a different kind of company that believes in big ideas and innovation in the same way that I do and will help us continue to grow the brand. I feel invigorated, excited and more ready than ever to step into an even bigger role as Chief Creative Officer, and Head of Innovation of rhode as well as strategic advisor to e.l.f. Beauty.' e.l.f. Beauty revealed in a press release that the agreement includes an upfront payment of $800 million in cash and stock, with an additional "potential earnout consideration of $200 million based on the future growth of the brand" over the next three years. Taking on an even bigger role in the wake of the acquisition, Hailey will maintain her position as founder and will also serve as Rhode's chief creative officer and head of innovation, directing creative efforts, product innovation, and marketing strategies. Additionally, she will assume a new role as a strategic advisor to the merged entities. In conversation with Vogue Business, Hailey expressed her journey to find the perfect partner for her eponymous brand. The entrepreneur said: "Finding a home for Rhode was a really scary process, but as soon as I met the Elf Beauty team, I could tell they had such a strong sense of community and that spoke volumes to me because I know how I feel about our Rhode community.' Hailey also expressed her admiration for e.l.f.'s innovative approach in the beauty industry, commenting: 'I could have gone to a table of suits (referencing brand suitors), but Elf Beauty's partnership offering was different.' e.l.f. Chairman and CEO Tarang Amin also commented on how they found a 'like-minded disruptor in Rhode'.

Hailey Bieber's Rhode to be acquired for US$1 billion—here's what it means
US cosmetics group Elf Beauty announced it is acquiring make-up and skincare brand Rhode, founded by Hailey Bieber, in a landmark billion-dollar deal In what is regarded as one of the biggest celebrity beauty acquisitions in recent years, Hailey Bieber's make-up and skincare label Rhode has just been sold for US$1 billion. Elf Beauty announced it signed a definitive agreement to acquire Rhode, a rapidly growing lifestyle beauty brand known for its collection of high-tech, everyday skincare products. According to a press release, the deal is 'comprised of US$800 million of consideration payable at closing in a combination of cash and stock, subject to customary adjustments, and an additional potential earnout consideration of US$200 million' based on Rhode's growth over the next three years. The news comes two months after Vogue Business reported that the brand hired investment banks JPMorgan Chase and Moelisto oversee the sale. In case you missed it: Brad Pitt just launched a skincare line—when will consumers grow tired of celebrity beauty brands? Founded in 2022 by Bieber and her business partners, Michael Ratner and Lauren Ratner, Rhode launched with just three products as a direct-to-consumer brand that quickly rose to prominence among beauty enthusiasts and industry watchers. While its collection of ten products is considered modest compared to other celebrity beauty brands, a report in Business of Fashion stated that the brand managed to rake up US$212 million in net sales in the latest fiscal year ending in March 2025. Rhode recently announced its entrance into physical stores, starting with Sephora US and Canada stores and in Sephora UK by the end of the year. It is no surprise that the brand quickly went viral due to Bieber's influence that started various social media trends—from glazed donut nails to Erewhon smoothies. But those familiar with Rhode will know the products that truly shot the brand into superstardom are its Peptide Lip Treatment and the instantly recognisable Lip Case. 'When I launched Rhode in 2022, I always had big dreams for the company, and the most important thing to me is to keep bringing rhode to more spaces, places, and faces globally,' Bieber said in an Instagram post announcing the acquisition. 'So today I am so incredibly excited and proud to announce that we are partnering with Elf Beauty as we step into this next chapter in the world of rhode.' Elf Beauty chief executive officer and chairman Tarang Amin told Vogue Business that this new partnership is the 'perfect marriage' for them. The American beauty group's existing portfolio currently consists of skincare brand Naturium, singer Alicia Keys's wellness brand, Soulcare, and makeup brand Well People. While Bieber continues her role as founder of Rhode, she also takes on new titles: Chief Creative Officer and Head of Innovation of the brand as well as strategic advisor to Elf Beauty. Three years after launching, Hailey Bieber is selling her beauty brand Rhode to e.l.f. Beauty in a massive $1billion deal but will retain her roles as chief creative officer Hailey Bieber is selling her beauty and skincare brand Rhode to e.l.f. Beauty in a deal worth up to $1billion (£740million). Announced on Wednesday, May 28, the acquisition marks one of the most high-profile beauty deals in recent years, according to Vogue Business. In a press release announcing the acquisition, e.l.f. Beauty shared the deal includes $800 million in cash and stock at closing, plus a 'potential earnout consideration of $200 million based on the future growth of the brand' over three years. The deal is expected to close in the second fiscal quarter of 2026, pending approvals. Bieber will continue her role as founder while expanding her remit as Rhode's chief creative officer and head of innovation, overseeing creative, product innovation and marketing. She will also take on a new role, acting as a strategic advisor to the combined companies. Speaking to Vogue Business, Bieber confirms she's been looking for the right partner for her namesake business. 'Finding a home for Rhode was a really scary process, but as soon as I met the Elf Beauty team, I could tell they had such a strong sense of community and that spoke volumes to me because I know how I feel about our Rhode community," she said. Bieber said she admired e.l.f.'s disruptive strategy within the beauty space. 'I could have gone to a table of suits (referencing brand suitors), but Elf Beauty's partnership offering was different,' she told Vogue. E.l.f. Chairman and CEO Tarang Amin says it found a 'like-minded disruptor in Rhode'. E.l.f. Beauty was long relegated to the low-tier status of 'dupe' brand but has gained a solid foothold in the beauty industry for its steady rollout of innovative products at accessible prices and consistent quality. E.l.f.'s sales have grown for 25 consecutive quarters, according to Business of Fashion. Rhode has also grown rapidly since its founding in 2022, due in large part to its high-tech yet accessible skincare formulas and Bieber's consistent online promotion. In its latest fiscal year ending in March 2025, the brand generated $212 million (£157million) in net sales from a line of only 10 products. Rhode's success stands as a marked success in the landscape of failed celebrity beauty brands. News of the acquisition also comes after Rhode's recent announcement that it will launch in Sephora UK by the end of the year and in Sephora Canada and US as early as the fall. The news also follows the launch of Rhode's new pocket blushes this past March. Rhode's pocket blushes were released last year and received amazing praise from shoppers and our beauty team at the Mirror. The latest shade drop has fans calling it the "best shade yet". There are actually two new shades, both in the same berry family, with one being warmer and one cooler. The shades are: Date Cake (a warm red berry), and Plum (a cool purple berry).

French luxury group Chanel's full year profit tumbles 28% due to ‘challenging macroeconomic' conditions
French luxury group Chanel said Tuesday that it suffered a 28.2-percent drop in net profit to $3.4 billion last year because of "challenging" conditions in some markets. "We saw challenging macroeconomic conditions which had an impact on sales in some markets," the CEO of the fashion house, Leena Nair, said in a statement. Global revenue dipped 5.3 percent to $18.7 billion. It said the headwinds raise questions over whether it will raise prices, as it typically does twice a year, in March and in September. Several rivals, such as Hermes, have already hiked their prices to compensate for the 10-percent tariffs into the US market ordered by President Donald Trump. Chanel's chief financial officer Philippe Blondiaux told Vogue Business that the situation with the US tariffs was "extremely volatile" and "we are waiting to see what will be the outcome of all the ongoing discussions" before deciding. Chanel 2024 sales in North and South America dipped 4.3 percent, while those in the Asia-Pacific region plummeted 9.3 percent. Revenues from European sales rose 1.2 percent. Chanel said it made "record" investments in 2024, notably acquiring prestige properties in Paris and New York and expanding its global network of stores, including in China and Japan. It planned to pursue that path, by expanding further in China as well as in India and Mexico. Nair told Vogue Business that China was "one of the most dynamic and important markets for the luxury ecosystem" and Chanel had opened 15 new stores there last year, and planned to open another 15.
