Weather: Check forecast for Cincinnati Open; Voices of America Country Music Festival
Enjoy the dry weather and sunny skies while you can, because showers and thunderstorms may return this week. A mostly dry day is forecast for Monday, Aug. 4, according to the National Weather Service office in Wilmington. However, some scattered to isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible mainly over Northern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana. Some showers and storms may linger overnight, but should be very isolated if they occur. Expect highs in the low 80s with dewpoints in the low 60s. Greater Cincinnati should see a similar forecast on Tuesday, Aug. 5, for the start of the Cincinnati Open, which will be held at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason through Aug. 18. Showers are slated to persist through the early morning hours on Aug. 5, especially in southwest areas. Then sunshine is likely to return for the afternoon. Some weak instability will develop on Wednesday, Aug. 6, which may lead to a few showers and thunderstorms, mainly during the afternoon into early evening. Highs will be in the low to mid-80s. A gradual warming trend with daytime highs in the mid- to upper 80s will occur by the end of the week for the Voices of America Country Music Festival, held in West Chester Township Aug. 7-10.
