I review running shoes for a living and my favorite Nike sneaker is 37% off in this Prime Day deal

I review running shoes for a living and as fun as that sounds, I have hundreds of pairs of shoes stacked up in my closet. I don't often have time to return to shoes unless I really really love them. However, one shoe I can never part with is the Nike Invincible 3, and it's on sale for $118 at Nike in this Prime Day sale. It's my favorite Nike running shoe of all time, and it's been discontinued, so now is a great time to buy if you're looking for a super comfortable, max-cushioned running shoe. The Nike Invincible 3 is currently on sale in four different colors in the women's shoe, although you'll need to cycle through the colors to find the best deal in your size. The men's Nike Invincible 3 is also on sale at Nike. The Nike Invincible 3 is a max-cushioned running shoe, best suited for long runs and easy miles. It's a super soft and bouncy sneaker, and I reach for the Invincible 3 on days when I don't feel like running — it's a fun shoe, and one I'll never tire of. The Invincible 3 has been discontinued and will be replaced by the Vomero Plus later this summer, but don't let this put you off — snag this shoe while you still can! The magic in the Invincible 3 lies in the midsole foam. It has Nike's premium ZoomX foam, which you'd normally find in its faster carbon fibre racing shoes. Here, however, instead of propelling the foot forward, the bouncy, responsive foam reduces the impact of each step for a more comfortable run. If you're looking for a plush, soft running shoe, I've found it. With 37% off, now is a great time to buy. And be sure to check out our Prime Day deals live blog for major discounts on everything from TVs, laptops and appliances to apparel and games.

'I Dared To Dream': Faith Kipyegon Didn't Break The Four Minute Mile - But She Proved The Power In Trying

When Faith Kipyegon lined up on the track in Stade Sébastien-Charléty in Paris on June 26, it was never just about running a mile under four minutes. While it was a moonshot attempt, yes, it was also a symbolic message to her daughter, young girls and women everywhere across the world to dream big and unapologetically be seen doing so, rather than to play it safe. She ran 4:06.42 — faster than any woman in history. But long before Faith had stepped into the stadium, and long after the timer had stopped, a resounding sense of collective effort is what helped Faith build her dream of breaking four, and inspiring others to live out their dreams, no matter how impossible they feel. From becoming a Nike athlete just two years into her running journey at 16, a familal like relationship has fostered the three time Olympic gold medal winner's journey. On the day itself, the presence of genuine support for Faith was also undeniable. While we were hundreds of miles away from her high-altitude camp in Kaptagat, Kenya, the spirit of her training grounds was very much with her. Members of the camp including her close friend and mentor Eliud Kipchoge (the first person to run a marathon in under two hours) stood by the sidelines cheering her on. A reminder that while Faith's journey played out on a global stage, it remained deeply-seated in her Kenyan roots. And on the track she wasn't alone. Amongst a mixture of decorated male and female pacers that surrounded her were Gemma Reekie and Georgia Bell - who competed against Faith at the Paris Olympics a year ago. Now, Bell was helping her chase history. In what other sport can the same be said? 'This was the first trial,' Faith stated after the run. 'I've learned so many lessons from this race. I'll go back to the drawing board… I've seen that it's possible — and one day, it will come my way.' For Faith, it is clear that her race was never about perfection, but rather having the audacity to show up. She reminded us that running — even at the elite level — is still a human experience that requires a village to help get you where you need to go. Every detail of the attempt had intent. Her Nike kit was custom-engineered down to the threads — zonal-mapped to ease air resistance, featherlight spikes adapted to her exact stride, even a 3D printed sports bra, a seamless headband, aerodynamic fabric — her attire was customised at every point. Faith is now not just influencing product design, and defending her world titles, but helping build the future. A maternity ward is being funded in her hometown in Kenya — one of the many ways this journey tells more than breaking records. Even Faith's recovery is part of the story. In the year leading up to breaking 4, she's been wearing Nike's Vomero Plus trainers on her low impact days. A shoe that supports everything from run club training to post injury support or getting your daily steps in. The insights from Faith's training have made their way into shoes that serve real bodies, be it the mundane days or race day - elite athlete or not. 'It's definitely been a game-changer in her journey,' says Nike's Senior Director of Running footwear Deepa Ramprasad. 'Faith's voice was at the forefront, and that led the direction of making sure it was right for her, and that ultimately led to shoes that are going to work for all athletes.' What happened in Paris wasn't failure. It marked a resilient shift in how we define success. When it became clear that Faith wouldn't make a sub-4 mile, the stadium didn't fall silent. If anything, the energy intensified. We were all on our feet - clapping, cheering and yelling, well beyond the end of the race. In an age where visibly trying can often be deemed and feel uncool, unrealistic and embarrassing, Faith set an example of how to reach beyond of what is expected of you, and if at times it feels unattainable, that having a community around you might just be what you need. Is this the most comfortable Nike running shoe ever made? What you need to know about the Nike Vomero Premium

The Nike Vomero 18 is already one of the most cushioned running shoes you can get, so when I say that the new Nike Vomero Premium and Vomero Plus offer even more foam underfoot, you know they're going to be exceptionally comfortable shoes. Both have just launched and sit above the Vomero 18 in Nike's max-cushioned shoe line-up. The Vomero Plus looks like a direct replacement for the Nike Invincible 3, with a similar overall design, while the Vomero Premium is something completely new. The Vomero Premium has an incredibly high stack height of 55mm at the heel and uses a mix of foams in the midsole to create the most cushioned ride of any Nike shoe, with the brand suggesting it delivers a similar sensation to running on an anti-gravity treadmill in how it protects the body from the impact of the sport. Both the Vomero Premium and Vomero Plus will likely rival the best running shoes for those who love a very cushioned ride, but you'll have to wait to get your hands on them. The Vomero Plus launches on August 7, and the Vomero Premium goes on sale at select retailer partners on October 2, before its global release on October 16. The Vomero 18 might not be as cushioned as the Vomero Premium, but it's still a very comfortable shoe and a lot cheaper. It's a great option for cruising through your daily training runs, and it's available now. The Vomero line-up of shoes is all about cushioning, and the Vomero Premium takes that to new heights with its towering midsole stack, standing 55mm tall at the heel — 9mm higher than the Vomero 18. That midsole is made up of two materials, with two Air Zoom units that are mostly surrounded in ZoomX foam. Both of these materials deliver a high level of energy return and the ZoomX foam is soft and squishy, so the ride should be both comfortable and bouncy. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Nike says the Vomero Premium was developed to meet the needs of elite runners who needed a comfortable but still springy ride to help them rack up a lot of miles in training while reducing the impact of those miles. The shoe has been used by Kenyan elite runner Faith Kipyegon during her training as she attempts to be the first woman to run a 4-minute mile. 'It's so soft, cushioned and comfortable,' says Kipyegon. 'It helps me train harder with less impact to allow me to recover faster and stay focused on my goal." Nike's product team aimed to recreate the sensation of running on an anti-gravity treadmill with the Vomero Premium, with regards to how it reduced the impact of training. "Anti-gravity treadmills supplement an athlete's body weight so they can run with less impact, which our athletes tell us means more miles with less recovery time," says Ashley Campbell, expert product line manager and Nike Running. "The Vomero Premium aims to provide a high amount of impact reduction and a similar sensation to the anti-gravity treadmill experience." All this technology comes at a high price, with the Vomero Premium priced at £209.99. It will be interesting to see how the shoe feels on the run — the Nike Pegasus Premium launched with a similar level of hype but felt a little clunky on the run during my testing. At time of writing, Nike hasn't confirmed US pricing. You can get an idea converting GBP into USD, although this is just a guess at this point, as the tariffs applied to non-U.S. goods could (and probably will) mean that the price will be higher in the U.S. The Nike Vomero Plus might not have as much hype around it at launch as the Nike Vomero Premium, but fans of the Nike Invincible line will be delighted by its arrival. That's because it looks like a replacement for the Invincible 3, with a max-cushioned design that exclusively uses ZoomX foam in the midsole. It has a stack height of 45mm at the heel, so isn't as outlandishly tall as the Vomero Premium, but it's 4mm higher than the Invincible 3 and around the same as the Vomero 18, which uses a mix of Nike's ReactX and ZoomX foams in its midsole. The Vomero Plus will probably be lighter than the Vomero Premium because of its lower midsole stack and the fact it just uses ZoomX, which is a very lightweight material also used in racing shoes like the Nike Alphafly 3. It's also cheaper, costing £159.99 (U.S. price TBC), which is £25 more than the Vomero 18, which is the most affordable Nike option for those craving a max-cushioned ride.
