BJP IT Cell Chief Malviya Exposes Tejashwi Yadavs Multiple Voter IDs, Terms Opposition As ‘Alliance Of Pappus'

A major controversy has broken out in Bihar after BJP's IT cell Chief Amit Malviya accused RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav of holding multiple Voter Identity Cards. The BJP has alleged that this is a serious case of voter fraud, while Tejashwi has claimed that his name was wrongly removed from the new voter list released on August 1. BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya said in a post on X, 'I still can't believe Tejashwi Yadav once compared himself to Steve Jobs, only to now be exposed holding multiple EPICs! From fake comparisons to fake voter IDs, the hypocrisy is staggering.' Malviya also called the Opposition an 'Alliance of Pappus', mocking their leadership and unity. The issue started when Tejashwi raised questions about the draft voter list released by the Election Commission. Tejashwi claimed that his voter ID details had been changed without his knowledge, and his name was missing. He called it a conspiracy and asked how many other voters might be facing the same issue. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary joined the row, claiming that Tejashwi had two EPIC (Electors Photo Identity Card) numbers: RAB0456228 and RAB2916120. According to Choudhary, Tejashwi was consistently voting under the EPIC number RAB0456228 from the Digha Assembly constituency in Patna. To back his claims, Deputy Chief Minister Choudhary posted detailed records from past elections. Choudhary mentioned: In the 2015 Assembly polls, Tejashwi voted from Booth 150, Serial No. 605, In 2020, it was Booth 160, Serial No. 511, In 2021 voter list revision, it was Booth 171, Serial No. 489, In January 2025 revision, Booth 171, Serial No. 481, and In August 1, 2025 revision, Booth 204, Serial No. 416. Choudhary said that the second EPIC number, which Tejashwi recently referred to, was either fake or never officially issued. 'Where did this second EPIC number come from?' he asked. 'This is a serious matter and must be investigated. Is this an individual mistake or part of a bigger plan by the RJD?' he added. The Election Commission of India (ECI) responded by saying it is possible that the second EPIC was never officially issued.

"All parties should create a common minimum program to address issue of illegal immigrants": Delhi Assembly Speaker

New Delhi [India], July 12 (ANI): Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta called upon all political parties to rise above partisan lines and formulate a 'common minimum program' to collectively address the issue of illegal immigrants in the national capital. His remarks came in response to Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena's recent directive to the Chief Secretary, seeking stricter regulations for the issuance of Aadhaar cards in Delhi. The directive followed reports of a large number of Aadhaar cards being fraudulently obtained by illegal immigrants. Speaking to ANI, the Delhi Assembly Speaker said, 'This (illegal migrants) is a major problem in Delhi. To resolve it, all parties should come together and, rising above politics, create a common minimum program to address this issue collectively.' On Friday, the Principal Secretary to the Delhi Lieutenant Governor, VK Saxena, wrote to the Chief Secretary of the Delhi government, urging the enforcement of stringent regulations regarding Aadhaar issuance in the national capital. In a letter dated July 11, the Principal Secretary highlighted that the illegal immigrants have managed to secure an Aadhaar card on the basis of false documentation or misrepresentation, which, in turn, is adversely impacting local employment. The letter further noted that illegal immigrants are also getting benefits under the welfare schemes of the Centre and State governments, once they get their Aadhar cards. The LG secretariat has asked for strict enforcement by Registrars in issuing Aadhar Cards and directed them to switch to the in-house model of Aadhar enrollment within two months. The Chief Secretary has also been asked to provide a comprehensive list of all Aadhar enrollment centres in the national capital by July 15. The letter reads, 'It has been brought to the attention of the Lt. Governor that during the course of Security Review Meetings, in several instances, illegal immigrants have managed to secure Aadhaar cards on the basis of false documentation or misrepresentation. This has a cascading impact wherein such individuals are able to secure documents which establish Nationality, i.e. Passport and Voter Identity Cards.' 'They also end up availing benefits under Welfare Schemes administered by the Central and State Governments. Having secured Aadhaar documents, the illegal immigrants secure jobs, depressing local labour markets, and adversely impacting local employment. This also has wider ramifications for National Security,' it added. According to the letter, the Delhi government has not complied with UIDAI's directions to shift to an in-house model for Aadhaar enrollment by March 2023. (ANI)

LG Saxena asks Delhi government to make Aadhaar registrations in national capital 'foolproof'

NEW DELHI: Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has asked the Delhi government to make Aadhaar registrations in the national capital "foolproof", stating illegal migrants obtaining the document has wider national security ramifications. In a letter to Dharmendra, Chief Secretary of Delhi, Ashish Kundra, Principal Secretary to LG, said that it has been brought to the attention of LG that during the course of Security Review Meetings, in several instances illegal immigrants have managed to secure an Aadhaar card based on false documentation or misrepresentation. 'This has a cascading impact wherein such individuals can secure documents which establish Nationality, i.e. Passport and Voter Identity Cards. They also end up availing benefits under Welfare Schemes administered by the Central and State Governments. Having secured Aadhaar documents, the illegal immigrants secure jobs, depressing local labour markets adversely impacting local employment. This also has wider ramifications for National Security,' the letter from the LG said. 'This warrants a fresh look at the responsibilities assigned to Registrars under the Aadhaar (Enrolment and Update) Regulations, 2016, in the Government of NCT of Delhi, particularly with respect to field-level implementation, monitoring and verification procedures,' the letter said. Attention is drawn to an Office Memorandum issued by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) dated 14.10.2022, wherein directions were issued to State Governments to shift Registrars/Enrolment Agencies working under an outsourced to an in-house model by March 31st, 2023.
