The Hawks have arrested three people in connection with the murder of a police officer who was shot dead outside his home in Vrygrond, Muizenberg, on 30 May. Sergeant Lulama Njobeni, 48, was stationed at the Wynberg police station at the time of his murder. Hawks spokesperson Warrant Officer Zinzi Hani said the three people, aged 19 to 25, were arrested on Monday after a multidisciplinary team followed up on information and traced them to Muizenberg. They are expected to make their first appearance in the Muizenberg Magistrate's Court on a murder charge on Wednesday, Hani said. Acting head of the Hawks in the Western Cape, Brigadier Mushavhaduvha Ramovha, praised the investigating team for following every lead.
