Outside Lands performer announces additional S.F. show

One of Outside Lands ' most highly-anticipated acts is already plotting her return to San Francisco. Doechii plans to embark on a 12-city trek for her North American Live from the Swamp Tour later this year, kicking off at Chicago's Aragon Ballroom on Oct. 14. She makes her way to San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on Nov. 7 and wraps up the run of shows at Seattle's WAMU Theater on Nov. 10. Ticket presales start at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8. General sales begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11. The Florida rapper's announcement comes days after large albino alligator statues, a nod to the cover of her 2024 EP 'Alligator Bites Never Heal,' were spotted in various cities, including San Francisco where she is slated to perform on Friday, Aug. 8 as part of Outside Lands. She is scheduled for a 7 p.m. slot on the main stage for the first night of the three-day festival, which takes over Golden Gate Park through Sunday, Aug. 10. The 'Denial is a River' hitmaker last performed in the Bay Area in November, selling out performances at the Independent in San Francisco and at Oakland's New Parish. Bill Graham Civic Auditorium has a capacity of 8,500, nearly 10 times larger than the two Bay Area venues combined. Doechii has experienced a meteoric rise to mainstream fame over the past few months, following the success of 'Alligator Bites Never Heal' and her breakout song 'Anxiety,' which samples Gotye and Kimbra's 2011 hit, 'Somebody That I Used to Know.' The bisexual musician has become known for her bold statements and edgy-yet-preppy aesthetic, and is already using her growing platform to advocate for mental health awareness and LGBTQ+ rights. She won her first Grammy Award earlier this year for best new artist, and has been praised by a number of her peers. Lady Gaga, for instance, deemed her 'immediately legendary' in a cover story for British Vogue at the start of the month. Ahead of her Outside Lands performance later this week, Doechii performed at Lollapalooza in Chicago's Grant Park on Saturday, Aug. 2, where she delivered a high-energy performance that included a surprise appearance from City Girls rapper JT. The fellow Floridian joined Doechii's set for a performance of their 2024 song 'Alter Ego.'
