#SHOWBIZ: AC Mizal: 4U2C appoints responsible party, follows proper channels

KUALA LUMPUR: Nineties hip-hop group, 4U2C, has appointed an authorised party and followed the correct channels to ensure no copyright issues arise regarding the songs to be performed at the WE 4U2C Live in Concert event on Sept 15. This was confirmed by group leader, Datuk AC Mizal, when asked to comment on the statement by composer and full copyright holder of 4U2C's songs, Man Senoi, and his wife, Mama Rap. In their statement, Man Senoi and Mama Rap claimed they had not been contacted by any party regarding the concert's organisation. "I don't want to comment on the matter because I haven't had any contact with them for a long time," AC Mizal told Harian Metro. "My focus right now is solely on this concert. All other matters will be handled by the responsible parties." Without revealing who would be handling the issue, AC Mizal said that 4U2C would also perform three new songs, which he believed would not pose any problems. "We have many songs to perform, including three new ones, and so forth," he said. "So, for me, there's no problem as everything is being managed well by the relevant parties." 4U2C, comprising AC Mizal along with Azam, Aren, Yanz, Rinz, Lanz, and Charlie, is currently undergoing intensive training sessions to refine their performances. "We've already started training sessions," he said. "The training is quite rigorous, involving dancing and singing, and focuses a lot on the overall performance aspect." The WE 4U2C Live in Concert, with a 1990s theme, will feature more than 20 popular 4U2C songs and will take place at the Idea Live Arena in Petaling Jaya. Earlier, Man Senoi and Mama Rap informed Harian Metro that they held the full copyright to 4U2C's songs but were not informed about the concert's organisation. The two also shared details about 4U2C's beginnings, which they founded, and the struggles they faced to ensure the group could establish itself in the country's music industry.

#SHOWBIZ: AC Mizal: 4U2C split not due to problems among members

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk AC Mizal emphasised that 4U2C's split wasn't due to personal conflicts or arguments. Instead, it stemmed from a management disagreement, and all the band members had never fallen out. "It wasn't our problem when we split. There was no real conflict among us at all," he was quoted as saying in a news report yesterday. "Back then, we considered ourselves to be like siblings. When we first got together as a group, we didn't expect 4U2C to become such a big name." Another band member, Azam, explained that they decided to go their separate ways because they all had individual plans and paths to pursue. "Everyone wanted to follow their own path and have their own direction," he said. Apart from AC and Azam, other band members – namely Aren, Yanz, Rinz, Lanz, and Charlie – were also present at a recent press conference to announce the band's upcoming reunion concert, 'WE 4U2C Live in Concert'. The concert, which aims to relive the band's heyday in the 1990s for both the members and their fans, will take place at the Idea Live Arena, Petaling Jaya, on Sept 15.

#SHOWBIZ: Nineties hip-hop group 4U2C set for grand comeback concert

KUALA LUMPUR: Legendary Malaysian 1990s hip-hop group 4U2C is poised for a powerful comeback with 'WE 4U2C Live in Concert,' scheduled for Sept 15 at the Idea Live Arena in Petaling Jaya. This highly anticipated event, themed "Bringin' Back Da 90's Flava," will reunite all seven original members: Datuk AC Mizal, Aren, Yanz, Rinz, Lanz, Charlie, and Azam. It offers fans a golden opportunity to relive the group's heyday. The idea for the concert was initially sparked by AC Mizal's wife, Datin Emylia Rosnaida, before being realised with support from Juss Event Sdn Bhd. "This concert has been a long-term dream of mine," shared AC Mizal, whose real name is Mizal Zaini. "My wife first suggested it, and soon after, Juss Event came on board. It's truly a dream come true, and we're ready to give fans an unforgettable night." AC Mizal also acknowledged that the recent success of the KRU reunion concert served as an inspiration. "We're thankful to KRU, as its success reignited interest in 1990s acts like us. It showed that there's still strong demand for nostalgic performances. Now it's our turn to share this special moment with fans and family." More than just a trip down memory lane, the concert marks 4U2C's official return to the local music scene. "We're not just here for nostalgia; we want to be trendsetters again. 4U2C was the first local group to blend singing and choreographed dance performances. We're proud of that legacy, and we're bringing it back." To ensure a top-tier production, renowned composer and musical director Aubrey Suwito has been enlisted to helm the concert's musical direction. He will be supported by a team of 14 seasoned professional musicians. Adding to the excitement, 4U2C will also debut three brand-new singles during the concert — a special treat for fans who have stood by them over the years. Organised by Juss Event, the concert not only celebrates 4U2C's past success but also signals a fresh new chapter for the group in the Malaysian music industry, nearly 30 years after their debut.
