Good morning, fellow WEBTOON readers and welcome to this week's installment of Saturday Morning Webtoons! This is where we shine a light on two Webtoons we are thoroughly enjoying. These stories have had us captivated chapter after chapter each week, and we couldn't pass up sharing them with you! So grab your favorite snacks, an electronic device and settle into these sensational stories. DISCLAIMER: This article contains spoilers for The Lone Necromancer and The Primal Hunter . RELATED: 10 Best WEBTOON Series Released in 2024 The Lone Necromancer The Lone Necromancer WEBTOON Original Series. Kicking off our action-packed weekend reads is JJJ, Kim Kyoung-Yeol and Kim Dong-Jun's The Lone Necromancer . The series follows former special forces soldier and college student Seongwu. One minute, he thinks life is going to be easy; the next, he has to pick a new role and face off against terrifying monsters that have popped up around the world. Equipped with his newfound abilities to control he dead, he only has one goal in mind – to make it out alive. We love a good action series on WEBTOON. And The Lone Necromancer isn't just action, it's fantasy too – a double win in our book. It has the same vibes as Sword Art Online but with a more serious tone. Like other action series, the art plays a huge role in the storytelling. Watching the fight scenes dance down the page gives everything a unique and beautiful flow. It does an incredible job adding excitement and suspense to the story. For action and fantasy fans, this is a must-read in our book. The Lone Necromancer updates every Friday. Readers can find it on the official WEBTOON page. RELATED: 5 Tyrants that WEBTOON Made Me Fall in Love With The Primal Hunter The Primal Hunter WEBTOON Original Series. Our next action-packed WEBTOON comes from Magnozz, Zogarth, Aethon and WmW. The Primal Hunter is a series that follows Jake, an everyday average office worker who struggles to make friends with his coworkers. Then out of nowhere, he is thrust into a world filled with monsters and mystery. But instead of succumbing to fear, Jake thrives here. Using what skills he has, Jake fights to survive and shed his past and become a true apex hunter. Keeping up with the action-fantasy and thrown into another world theme, The Primal Hunter is a must-read overall. We found that this series, while having a similar premise to the iconic Sword Art Online , actually feels more like Log Horizon. And if you have ever had the pleasure of reading that series, you know this is going to be good. The suspense and mystery will have you struggling to put it down. Add in that we love Jake's character and want to watch him succeed to the end, and this makes it the perfect choice for an action-packed weekend. The Primal Hunter updates every Monday. Readers can find it on the official WEBTOON page. 6 Slice-Of-Life Webtoons That Will Help You Chill

6 Slice-Of-Life Webtoons That Will Help You Chill
Are the dramas on WEBTOON suddenly too dramatic? Do you need a break from the villains and villainesses? My life is stressful as it is and sometimes I need to unwind without getting invested into an extremely high-stakes plot. What about you? If so, you're in luck. These webtoons are cute, funny and guaranteed to not stress you out as much as a typical drama. Here are six slice-of-life webtoons to chill to: We Work From Home We Work From Home is a relatively new addition to WEBTOON, but is easily one of my top 10 slice-of-life webtoons. The art style is very vibrant with thick outlines with a heavy use of sharp highlights in hairs/furs. The comic is about a soon-to-be-married couple and their two cats. Though right now, most of their comics have been about their two cats. I can't wait to see what the cats get into next and learn more about the relationship between the two characters as more chapters are released, but until then we can read up on chapters about stray fur, meowing at night and how play fights between cats quickly turn to cats bullying each other. RELATED: 5 Tyrants That WEBTOON Made Me Fall in Love With Follow the creator on Instagram The Dog Diaries Dog Diaries starts in a black-and-white style, to show how dull and depressing the life of the main character is. Our protagonist is a workaholic who is going through severe burnout and can't take care of herself adequately. That is until one shred of color joins the world: a puppy. With her new puppy around, our hero is forced to clean up and actually leave her desk once in a while to make sure the scamp gets enough walks and attention. Not everything is belly rubs and rainbows, though. Drama hits from time to time, but we always come back to Reading it made me want to go adopt a dog right away, so read with caution. Follow the creator on Instagram Brutally Honest Did you know the creator of the hit furry/ice-skating comic, Blades of Furry, made a slice-of-life webtoon? It was on WEBTOON originals but ended back in 2017 to move back to WEBTOON CANVAS. While I don't know why it was taken off Originals, I can say that it has the quality to go back on. RELATED: 5 Devastating WEBTOON Curses Brutally Honest has a fun art style with loose, thick black lines, big eyes and minimal details. The humor is very relatable to creatives, but anyone living in the modern world can relate to most of it From fretting over checking your emails to getting random pains when running, there is something for everyone. Plus One Remember when I said to be cautious with The Dog Diaries because it will make you want a dog? Be double cautious with this one. Plus One follows the day-to-day life of a young soon-to-be mom. We start out with the main character announcing her positive pregnancy test while her partner is trying to poop. Everything is kept really light and comedic and is based off the creator's life. So as the pregnancy develops in real life, we get to see that in the comic world. It is only a matter of time until this pregnancy journey turns into a parenting journey, and I'm 100% invested. RELATED: Saturday Morning Webtoons: Sword Interval and Ghost Theater Follow the creator on WEBTOON Mono and Mochi Cat memes never get old, and neither do comics about introverts living with them. Mono is a 20-something introvert and Mochi is their chaotic cat. If you liked the humor in The Daily Life of High School Boys, you'll love this comic. There is a surprising amount of slap-stick humor for something produced this decade, but it all works insanely well. Guess it goes to show that a cat biting you when you pet its belly will always be the funniest thing ever. Follow the creator on Twitter and Instagram Dinosaur Couch Human comics are so overdone, am I right? What the world really needs is two dinosaurs that hang out together in the most wholesome ways imaginable. Lucky for us, that exists. RELATED: 7 Romance Webtoons That Don't Have Reincarnation I didn't think the day would ever come that I'd find a comic like Dinosaur Couch , but here with are. There is little to no plot other than the fact that some dinos reappear and have the same personality as before. This is the ideal comic for your regular dose of funnies, as comics are almost every other day with jokes that never miss their mark. Who knew dinosaur jokes couldn't get old? Follow the creator on their website I'm so excited to sit back and relax to these comics. Which one are you most excited about checking out? Sound off in the comments! Saturday Morning Webtoons: ANYTHING FOR YOU and NIGHT OF SHADOWS
DISCLAIMER: This article contains spoilers for Anything for You and Night of Shadows . RELATED: Check out our other Saturday Morning Webtoons! Anything for You Anything for You WEBTOON Original Series. Let the mystery begin with Volette's Anything for You . Now, with his friend Morgan, they must decide if they should finally agree that this is all just a weird coincidence or dig deeper into the mystery and uncover the truth. We absolutely love a good mystery, and Anything for You hooked us by the end of chapter one. Miller and Morgan face the terrifying fate of losing someone so close to them, only for someone who looks exactly like that person to show back up. Sure, we find those we miss in others, but this is just a bit too bizarre, which makes this series a mystery we need to solve. Q1 Earnings Highlights: WEBTOON (NASDAQ:WBTN) Vs The Rest Of The Digital Media & Content Platforms Stocks
Wrapping up Q1 earnings, we look at the numbers and key takeaways for the digital media & content platforms stocks, including WEBTOON (NASDAQ:WBTN) and its peers. AI-driven content creation, personalized media experiences, and digital advertising are evolving, which could benefit companies investing in these themes. For example, companies with a portfolio of licensed visual content or platforms facilitating direct monetization models could see increased demand for years. On the other hand, headwinds include growing regulatory scrutiny on AI-generated content, with many publishers balking at anything that gets no human oversight. Additional areas to navigate include the phasing out of third-party cookies, which could make traditional ways of tracking the online behavior of consumers (a secret sauce in digital marketing) much less effective. The 7 digital media & content platforms stocks we track reported a slower Q1. As a group, revenues missed analysts' consensus estimates by 3.5% while next quarter's revenue guidance was 1.2% below. While some digital media & content platforms stocks have fared somewhat better than others, they have collectively declined. On average, share prices are down 2.5% since the latest earnings results. Pioneering a vertical-scrolling format optimized for mobile devices, WEBTOON Entertainment (NASDAQ:WBTN) operates a global platform where creators publish serialized web-comics and web-novels that users can read in bite-sized episodes. Overall, it was a softer quarter for the company with a significant miss of analysts' EPS estimates and revenue guidance for next quarter slightly missing analysts' expectations. Junkoo Kim, Founder and CEO, said, 'We are pleased to report both revenue and Adjusted EBITDA above the midpoint of our guidance. Total revenue was up 5.3% on a constant currency basis, with all three revenue streams – Paid Content, Advertising, and IP Adaptations – contributing to growth.' Unsurprisingly, the stock is down 7.2% since reporting and currently trades at $9.16. Read our full report on WEBTOON here, it's free. As a result of the Fed's rate hikes in 2022 and 2023, inflation has come down from frothy levels post-pandemic. The general rise in the price of goods and services is trending towards the Fed's 2% goal as of late, which is good news. The higher rates that fought inflation also didn't slow economic activity enough to catalyze a recession. So far, soft landing. This, combined with recent rate cuts (half a percent in September 2024 and a quarter percent in November 2024) have led to strong stock market performance in 2024. The icing on the cake for 2024 returns was Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. Presidential Election in early November, sending major indices to all-time highs in the week following the election. Still, debates around the health of the economy and the impact of potential tariffs and corporate tax cuts remain, leaving much uncertainty around 2025.
