Police open case after gunshots go off at Westville club
WESTVILLE SAPS said a case of discharging of a firearm in a public place has been opened at the station after two gunshots went off on the dance floor while Veranda Panda performed at Westville Old Boys Club on the weekend.
One of the people that was at the club took to Facebook saying people were having a great time after watching a rugby game, until the gunshots went off.
According to the person who posted on Westville Crime & Info Group anonymously, this was the third case in the last month or so.

'Where shots have been fired at various clubs/pubs….. stupid question but are these people arrested or could it be the same person? It also seems to have quite the buzz at the time but then becomes old news and you don't hear about it again. I would like to put a face to the shots last night and perhaps know what would push someone to do that in a room full of people.' read the post.
Westville SAPS communications officer Captain Elizabeth Squires confirmed the case and said it is being investigated and no arrests have been made.
'There has been no other case reported in the past month as per the post above,' said Squires.
