Death in Paradise star returns to beloved role in series announcement
Death in Paradise's Josephine Jobert, who plays Florence Cassell in the hit BBC show, has delighted fans by confirming she is set to reprise her role
Josephine Jobert, famed for Death in Paradise, is set to reprise her detective role in the acclaimed series Saint-Pierre.
She and the show's official Instagram account announced excitedly that filming for the second series is now underway.
Accompanying a snapshot of Josephine dressed as DC Geneviève 'Arch' Archambault from Saint-Pierre, alongside Allan Hawco, who portrays Sgt. Inspector Donny 'Fitz' Fitzpatrick, the post said: "Thrilled to announce that principal photography has officially begun on Season 2, coming to @cbc and @cbcgem Winter 2026. Who's ready?"
Excited fans bombarded the comment section with their reactions, with one exclaiming: "I'M SOOOOO HAPPY.
"OMG ALREADY!!" cried another, while a third chimed in: "Can't wait for season 2!", reports Wales Online.
An additional fan shared: "Yay, awesome news.."
Another follower was elated: "They are back."
Someone else couldn't contain their anticipation: "AAAAAHHHH WINTER 2026 NEEDS TO HURRY SO EXCITED."
The show, which premiered in January 2025, sees two unique detectives collaborate to unravel complex and intriguing crimes.
As described in the series overview: "Fitz's arrival disrupts the life of Deputy Chief Geneviève 'Arch' Archambault, a Parisian transplant who is in Saint-Pierre for her own intriguing reasons.
"Saint-Pierre delivers compelling police procedural drama, featuring a cast that includes French sensation Josephine Jobert as Arch, Canadian A-lister Allan Hawco as Fitz, and James Purefoy."
Josephine first graced Death in Paradise as Florence Cassell in 2015, before making her initial exit in 2019.
She made a comeback in the 10th and 11th series, and even surprised fans with an unexpected return in 2024 when her character emerged from witness protection.
In the end, the detective sailed off into the sunset with the show's longest-serving detective, Neville Parker, portrayed by Ralf Little.
