Hendry Aceituno Gudiño, 18, of Riviera Beach, was with his girlfriend and her father when the fatal crash occurred in Martin County on Saturday, May 17, according to NBC affiliate WPTV and FOX affiliate WFLX. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said the car slammed into a guardrail near the Martin Highway exit after the 52-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle, CBS affiliate WPEC reported. Both the driver and Hendry were pronounced dead at the scene, per WPTV. The 16-year-old girl who was also inside the vehicle was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Hendry had reportedly graduated from Boca Raton Community High School just hours before the crash occurred. He was returning home from a celebratory dinner when the crash took place. The teen and his mom, Anielka Gudiño, moved to Florida from Venezuela in 2023, according to WPTV. Anielka told the station that her son 'had a whole life ahead of him.' 'It's a tragic death, and I think nobody deserves to die like that,' Anielka said. 'Very painful. Everything is painful. A teen full of life, 18 years old.' She later added, 'I'm going to miss him so much. It was him and I. This is all going to be so difficult for me.' As of Tuesday, May 20, more than $5,400 has been raised through a GoFundMe campaign started to support Hendry's family following the crash. In an email to families on Monday, May 19, high school principal Dr. Suzanne King expressed 'heartfelt condolences' to Hendry's family and said the school would 'offer support' to them, according to WPEC. Dodge Hellcat Driver Street Races With Child Passenger
Read the full story on The Auto Wire A Dodge Hellcat driver caught street racing in Florida was found to have an eight-year-old child passenger. We see stories like this far too often and it always blows our to WPEC, 23-year-old Juliette Leon was clocked going 117 mph in a 2023 Dodge Charger Hellcat on Southwest Gatlin Boulevard in Port St. Lucie. That's about 70 mph over the speed limit, earning her a nice stay at the local police bed and breakfast, otherwise known as jail. Police observed the Hellat racing another vehicle along the city street. Once they clocked the speed of both cars and caught up to the Dodge, they were shocked to find the tiny passenger sitting inside. After all, who goes racing with a kid? It's so incredibly irresponsible and reckless. Street racing is as well, but to do it with a child in your car, that's just beyond ridiculous. For some reason there's a trend with women, both mothers and just caretakers, who take the children they're supposed to be protecting for wild rides as they street race and run from the cops with kiddos onboard. We see this from time to time with men, but it seems to be far more of a rarity. Why that is we don't know, but someone should really dig into the issue one day, then tell us what conclusions they've drawn. In this case, not only did Leon get a ticket for speeding, and we bet it was an expensive one, she was arrested and charged with racing on highways as well as child neglect. That last one is the sort of thing you really don't want on your record. If you want to see what your Hellcat or other performance vehicle can do, go to a track and race without a kid riding shotgun. Trump headed to Mar-a-Lago, then Daytona 500 this weekend
(NewsNation) — President Donald Trump is set to be at his Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, before going to the Daytona 500 this Sunday. Local television station WPEC writes that the president has returned to Florida every weekend since his inauguration when he initially stayed in Washington. Last week, he was there before heading to New Orleans to watch the Super Bowl. Jack the Ripper's identity revealed after DNA match, historian says Some of the president's key staff can usually be seen on board the helicopter to Joint Base Andrews as he makes his way to Florida. His last departure included White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, press secretary Karoline Leavitt, communications director Steven Cheung and adviser James Blair, among others. Trump made many visits to Mar-a-Lago during his first term as well. As the Palm Beach Post notes, 'Mar-a-Lago became known as the 'Southern White House' or the 'Winter White House' because of his frequent trips there.' After he won election to his second term in November, The Associated Press reported that Trump spent most of his first week as president-elect at Mar-a-Lago, where he worked the phones, reconnected with foreign leaders and built his new administration. Often, he was surrounded by advisers, friends and paying members of the club, the AP wrote, including Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO who now leads the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. NewsNation reached out to the White House for comment. Area 51 veterans getting cancer as DOD denies they were there Trump's predecessor, Joe Biden, often traveled over the weekends as well. The Wall Street Journal last February reported that the former president made many trips to his home state of Delaware. During Biden's first three years in office, he spent all or part of 254 days there, former CBS News reporter Mark Knoller told the WSJ. Between weekend travel, vacations and trips to Camp David combined, Biden spent all or part of 408 days away from the White House in three years, Knoller said. Then-White House spokeswoman Olivia Dalton told the WSJ at the time that spending time on weekends with his family and community remained an 'important part' of Biden's life. On these trips with Biden would be White House staff and national security aides to give him updates on developing issues. 'As those around him know, this president is also constantly working no matter where he is—whether he's at the White House, in Delaware, or traveling around the country,' Dalton said to the WSJ. Trump, meanwhile, spent all or part of 259 days at his Florida and New Jersey properties during the first three years of his first term, Koller, who compiles data on presidential travel, said. When he was president, George W. Bush would often go to his Crawford, Texas ranch. Knoller, in 2005, said in an interview with NPR that although Bush was on a trip, 'It's really unfair to call it time off.' 'The president is really never able to take a vacation from his job,' Knoller said. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
