Niemeier wins all-German tennis duel against Siegemund in Stuttgart

Jule Niemeier was the winner of the all-German duel against Laura Siegemund at the WTA Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart on Tuesday.
Niemeier came from 4-1 down in the third set to prevail 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 after three hours and 12 minutes to reach the last 16. She will now face another German in Eva Lys or top favourite Jasmine Paolini.

"I believe we both put up a fight. I think the first set was a nervous one for both of us," the winner said.
Top seed Aryna Sabalenka and world number two Iga Swiatek received a first-round by and will start in the last 16.
Swiatek faces Jana Fett on Wednesday, while Sabalenka faces Anastasia Potapova on Thursday.
