Morgantown holds WV Cupcake and Craft Beer Fest
MORGANTOWN, (WBOY) — Downtown Morgantown held the WV Cupcake and Craft Beer Fest on Saturday, where attendees could try some local craft beers and enjoy some cupcakes that were baked to complement them.
Along with the cupcakes and beer, attendees could enjoy live music or stop by the other vendors to take a look at some jewelry or eat a pepperoni roll. Proceeds for the event go to Main Street Morgantown and the Walk to End Alzheimer's.

Cupcakes and craft beer may seem like a strange combination, but former owner of The Cupcakerie and the organizer of the festival Janet Williams maintains that they do go together.
'I mean, chocolate stout goes with stout beer, and there's Big Timber has a coffee logger, but we have a coffee cupcake,' Williams said. 'And then red velvet goes with everything.'
This is the eighth year of the festival, and the cupcakes and beer brought out decent traffic even despite the weather.
